There is something wrong with the world when there's a place out there for a Lego lobbyist.  That shouldn't be a job.  In fact, fark pretty much ALL the lobbyists, if the government needs to know something they should have appropriate research staff in the bureaucracy to draw upon.

I propose that the Library of Congress be expanded to include the Play Room of Congress, and an outdoor Playground of Congress

It actually wouldn't be a bad idea to have very visible daycare for staffer's children throughout federal government buildings.  Maybe it'd remind the old fossils whose future they're supposed to be protecting.

Yeah but would you want some of those congresspeople talking to your kids?  They aren't known for respecting personal space, and not even in a sexual way.  They are pushy af

On one end of the LEGO corporate ladder you've got the designers, the artists, the toy makers -- the people who create. And on the other end, as we see in this job listing, we've got the marketing MBAs who develop synergies with cross-platform thought leadership. And unfortunately, marketing, as always, runs the show. It's just that this highlights the disturbing realization that your fun and play are being manipulated by buzzword-spewing corporate strategists.

There was something wrong when there was a place for a gun lobby, this is the lesser of any evils.

But yeah, abolish the whole practice. Considering statements made by politicians it ain't helping them learn anything aside from how to make their bank accounts larger.

Yes, we have never had commercials, or t.v. shows just to sell toys.

I think lobbyists should be stopped or heavily regulated. And I'm not a big fan of worthless regulations. When your representatives are more beholden to corporate interests than the people the represent then we have a big farking problem.

No, at one end of the ladder you have the CEO and at the other a sweatshop worker. You are dumb as shiat

LEGO's production is highly automated, there's not much room for sweatshop-type work.

What do you lobby?

"We know the bricks are made of plastic that never decompose, but we started half ass testing plant based bricks. They are super expensive and not really being pushed by us, so please just leave us alone for a few more years and eventually we will come around to it."

// This is FARK l, why would I RTFA?

I don't buy Legos and I get a ridiculous amount of Legos ads.

I get so many online ads for Legos, I'm perpetually calling them Legos on purpose.

Legos.

The plastic in Legos comes from petroleum distillates.

Lanxess' Novodur ABS and Makrolon polycarbonate are two of the plastics used.

Laxness AG, the spin-off of the German company Bayer, makes the plastic from imported Saudi and Russian oil.

That's why they need lobbyists.

I'm sure those extra 400 barrels for Legos out of 4 to 8 billion are a big concern to big oil.

Might as well jump on Tinker Toys and Jenga blocks for deforesting the Amazon.
Not to mention your WOODEN SPOOOONS!

I imagine most of the lobbying would involve advocating for block grants

It's a job because most conservatives think LEGO is some group that supports the gay and trans people.

I've occasionally thought it would be fun to build a real house with giant Lego - maybe more solid, made from reclaimed rubber or something.  But the idea of having a concrete slab laid down and then assembling a home brick-by-brick like a child's play set appeals to me.

They do support the LGBTQ community. It's fantastic therapy for those with seriously intrusive thought patterns regarding the discrimination and violence they are subjected to in a thousand different ways. Keeps the focus on completing the project or building their perfect world to escape to for a little while.

Whether or  not LEGO is officially on board with that is unknown, but there sure are an awful lot of rainbows on that website.

Lego lobbyist. Probably the only job where you could tell people that "I move bricks," and not get red-flagged as a cocaine distributor.

You could be El Chapo, but like for little plastic children's toys.
