I heard he put Prince Albert in a can.

Well then. And they didn't even have the temerity to marry divorced American girls and they're still getting kicked out.

Should be in the Entertainment tab.

I care because I like history and am intellectually curious about things.  I'm not one of those "HaVen'T caReD SiNce 1776" yahoos.

I suspect the two of them cared.

It's not just the eye make-up. Princess Beatrice is obviously looking right at me through the photograph. Some sort of magical royal power. She's...she's controlling my mind with her eyeliner I think. She....she wants me to satisfy her sexually. Yes, that much is clear. Tis my duty, for God and country.

Exactly. At this point the Royal Family basically maintains it's relevance the same way as the Kardashians

You seem to be the only commenter who knows what they're wearing in that photo.

If they're downgraded, can they then appear on UK reality shows?  😆

The best way to ease comfortably into the new, is to watch The Windsors.  Best thing since Black Adder.

It looks like Wokism has indvaded the monarchy.

The press would certainly have you think so. This is the third "King Charles May Do This Mean Thing" article I've come across this week.

Tell me you get all your information via memes w/o telling me you get all your information via memes.

They have jobs. You're uninformed.

Oh, & before his accession Charles had a job as well, serving in the Royal Navy in the 70s, all you clever folk who congratulated him on finally getting his 'first job' (being King).

Chuck may well scale back titles & allowances; but in so doing, he's reducing the pool of people willing to go do the things royals do & that means charities will suffer.

My interpretation of this: since sons are no longer favored over daughters in the order of succession (for those sons and daughters born after 2011(ish)), then male-line grandchildren shouldn't be favored over female-line grandchildren when it comes to titles.

absolutely, they changed very longstanding rules/tradition that the crown go to a male child if there was one, they only got lizbet for her 70 years because she had no brothers, now if george for some reason doesn't get it after william, it goes to charlotte

Meh. A Princess marries and takes her husband's rank/title/style. She cannot pass it on to her children who have the social status of their father. Why bother "Fixing" something that corrects itself? Unnecessary work. Look at the titles and styles of the children/grandchildren of the Princess Royal. In the meantime, use the minor Royals for the small jobs: the openings and dedications of supermarkets and budgie shelters. Meanwhile, the King managed to find room at the Royal Funeral for his godparents, the Prince & Princess of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. Nobody was kvetching he managed to squeeze them into overflow seating in the Cathedral (which he pulled out of his apse). Let Betty and her sister use their titles whilst they can. They won't be passed on and they and their children will remain in the of succession as descendants of Electress Sophia of Hanover. (search "wargs heirs" for fullest list, circa 2011, of nearly 6k heirs to the English Throne).

Still don't understand how the one born 8-8-88 wasn't named Princess Octavia of York. Precedence when George III named his 8th son Prince Octavius. Much better than Eugenie.
