Well, the only question now is when will Drew start selling NFTs of Fark headlines. On the Farkchain.

The subject remains relatively new to the average internet user. The ability to share NFTs across Facebook and Instagram will undoubtedly increase awareness of NFTs and spark further interest.

I approve encircling the pool of suck so the intense gravity of its suckiness will cause a collapsing black hole of suckitude and free us from all the suckivity.

From that quote, I'm getting the impression that their line of thinking was "Who's going to buy NFTs now that everyone who was buying them before figured out they were worthless? Ooh, how about Boomers on Facebook?"

Isn't the idea of an NFT is that it can't be shared?

GorgorCoin. Each one is unique and impossible to duplicate or forget.

The underlying "asset" of the NFT can be duplicated indefinitely. There is no DRM, no watermark, nothing intrinsic to the asset that denotes that it is owned by anyone.

The NFT is a text entry in a digital ledger shared around the world (think Napster-style) that ostensibly holds a record of your ownership rights.

This is barely legally enforceable. It does not confer copyright or other kind of IP right necessarily. That's up to the seller. It is exclusive, but only on the particular ledger it is assigned on. There is nothing preventing others for creating another identical ledger entry on an infinite number of distributed ledgers.

NFTs and the so called metaverse are cash and power grabs by mostly large venture capital firms and other techno libertarian types.

If you hear anyone talk about them unironically or without disdain, run as fast as you can in the other direction.

Buy, Mortimer. Buy!

I need a double-up at this point to get even. So bid it up, folks.

You know those really popular threads that break Fark sometimes, the ones that come back (if they aren't closed) with the "show all" link removed? That's what we'd have here if we all started listing the heights of human stupidity.

So I'll start: Homeopathy.
