I've been burning off 30 days of vacation and doing 4 day work weeks but I still rise at 6:15, shower and tackle the diem.

I don't want to be on my death bed thinking I should have exercised more

What's with all the New Delhi TV links alluva sudden?  Did one of their reporters discover Fark or are they paying Fark for links?

Switching from 5 - 8 hour shifts to 4 -10's sounds great, on paper. We did it. That 5th day turned into nap-all-day day, so nothing was really gained. Granted, it was a physically demanding job, not a desk job.

I believe the article was in support of dropping a day entirely, to a 32 hour week. I like that idea.

It seems to me likely that activities that are non-optional like grocery shopping, laundry, and so on, that used to be distributed over the weekdays, and being pushed over to the 3 off days. So basically people are doing an hour less of chores on most workdays and sleeping instead (and getting the benefits from that).

Hmmm.  Was expecting a Seinfeld-related link, I guess.  Featuring Teri Hatcher.

Since retiring, I banned all alarm clocks, I stay up as late as I want, and I sleep until my body wants to get up on its own... that turns out to still be about 8 to 9 hours daily, unless I go on a particularly ling wake period. I find myself keeping "Batman Hours": awake from about 11 11AM until 2 or 3AM.  It was everything I hoped it could be.
