I do seriously wonder what the hell their problem is with the Mexican Pizza that there's such a ridiculous demand for it but they don't want to make it.

As for the taco wrapped in refried beans wrapped in a soft taco and whatever the other one is, pass. (And I would've said that before I found out beans are really good for making my kidneys make stones.)

That's a helluva distinction, the greatest item at Taco Bell.  It's like being the nicest participant in the Jan 6 insurrection.

The memester idiots supposedly clamoring for the mexican pizza would buy 0 or maybe 1 if they were being sold again before moving on to the next moronic distraction of the hour.

The double decker taco is one of the better menu options.

I literally ordered one for my wife last night. They sell them. You just have to make to effort to actually order one.

Chili cheese burrito was awesome. One of the few items that were microwavable as part of breakfast after a midnight taco bell drunk fest.

I thought they were back and just checked the menu of the one down the street and yeah, they're here... but also, Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch is apparently a thing.  I didn't know that.  That is amazing.

Believe in innovation, people.

I haven't been there or to any fast food place since several months before the pandemic started but I already know what will bring me back.  It will be Taco Bell.  And it will be me trying that black bean crunchwrap.

I'm old enough to recall when TB was a new sit down franchise. I always ordered the enchirito in the foil tray and two sauce packets.

/I'd order that again. Bring it on

Except logging into the Taco Bell App now, the first thing you see is an Ad for the permanent return of Mexican Pizza.

It is their version of the McRib effect.  Bring it back every once in a while and make a boatload of cash.

iat also could be that they know the supply chain can't currently guarantee long-term ingredient availability, so they don't want to put it out there just to have people get pissed because you have a better chance of finding a McShake on any particular day.

Things may be different where you live, but the local Bells have a sign on the door announcing that they don't have pizzas because of unprecedented demand. I don't believe it, either.

2022-09-30 10:37:37 AM
They need to bring back the bacon cheeseburger burrito with baja sauce.  That is infinitely better than any of the 3 mentioned old menu items.

Granted, in my early years, all I ate were enchiritos.  My father did the taxes for our local Taco Bell, found a way to save him thousands.  Whenever we'd stop by that store, the manager took our order and made the order, We often got a little "extra".  When they took enchiritos off the menu, the manager would still make some for me.

It's back permanently.. The actual Taco Bell App says so.

Obviously some local stores might (temporarily) still not have it, but (presumably) soon they'll all have the necessary ingredients all of the time.  Frankly, they probably already have them.  Nothing on this item isn't also used on other Taco Bell items.

I'll admit it: I used to love Taco Bell. It was my favorite fast food place all through the 90s. Even as recently as a decade ago, I'd still have it pretty regularly. Then they started farking with shiat.

First, they discontinued the old school grilled stuffed burrito, which I really liked. Then they replaced their perfectly serviceable rice with that wannabe Chipotle cilantro-lime garbage. Thankfully, they've since corrected that error.

But then, when the pandemic hit, they discontinued a ton of their basic menu items, including my go-to order: a double decker taco and a 7-layer burrito. Both of my favorite items were instantly gone. Maybe there was a decent excuse for the 7-layer burrito; idk, maybe their guacamole supply chain was messed up. Whatever. But the double decker taco? The ingredients were all still there at every location. Soft taco tortilla: check. Beans: check. Regular crunchy taco: check. There was absolutely no reason I shouldn't be able to order this item anymore.

It makes total sense now that they're "bringing it back (for a limited time)". They're absolutely playing the McRib game. But you know what? fark Taco Bell. They aren't even cheap anymore. A basic bean burrito is like $2.39 last I looked. I don't "love" their food to the point where I'll willingly look past these stupid cash-grab schemes. If they aren't even a truly cheap option anymore, then they have nothing to offer me.

The ice cream machines are a hot mess because 1) they require extremely specific maintenance and they'll basically shut down if any tiny thing is wrong and 2) McDonald's forces you to get them repaired by specific people, which is costly and time-consuming. Hell, you can't even diagnose any problems yourself.

They* didn't discontinue it.  They completely bungled the launch and didn't anticipate how popular it would be, despite the fact that people had been clamoring for it to be brought back for 2 years, so after a week or so they burned through all of the shells and they put it on hold.  If it had been discontinued they'd have simply removed it from the menu.

* "they" means corporate, it's entirely possible some franchise locations have chosen not to carry the mexican pizzas

No, the pizza sauce is it's own separate sauce, different from the red sauce they use on the burritos.

There is a 900 million lawsuit from a company called Kytch that made a device that will diagnose the Taylor built Ice Cream machines allowing franchises to fix issues that cripple the machine. The machine stops working for any number of easily remedied problems, but the machine gives essentially gibberish that only the Taylor repair techs could understand. So something as simple as too much mix in the machine requires a service call to remedy. The Kytch device would give you the issue in plain english so the franchisee could fix most issues by themselves.
