Maybe he might want to think on prepping his defense from his pre-The Dumbest Coup prep?

Texas Judges who still quake in horror at the Evils of Reconstruction when Texas was forced to provide Civil Rights to freed slaves.

I am still stunned that the Attorney General of Texas who clearly smocks the indica and sativa has not been prosecuted under #Texas law

Yet more evidence that Reconstruction didn't go on nearly long enough, and honestly should probably be restarted.

/Lee, Davis and every other Confederate 'leader' should also have been executed instead of being allowed to live out the rest of their lives as free men.

The list of graves I will piss on grows longer by the day. I'm going to have to buy a 55 gallon drum and a super soaker, because I'm just not going to have enough time otherwise.

We're going to need a lot of deconstruction before we can try another reconstruction

28 million residents and this partisan hack is the best you can do for AG, Texas?

You know that whole "unitary executive" thing that the Republicans love, puts almost all the power in the hands of the Chief Executive?  "If the President does it then it's legal" and all that crap?

That's what Texas had under Reconstruction.

I know personally Texas has good people. They don't elect them, however. This guy is abhorrent trash.

Sounds like Judge Walker knows exactly how Paxton and future AGs would attempt to meddle in the election process and he isn't having any of it.

Yup. And that's the least of it. Can you imagine if the Attorney General of a state could just start prosecuting whomever they wanted, whenever they wanted?

Paxton can imagine it. He was creaming himself over the idea of taking every Democrat to court for...whatever. It would be, essentially, legalization of nuisance criminal trials.

Republicans:  Black people should vote for us, because we're the party of Reconstruction!
Also Republicans:  Unreconstructed Southerners should vote for us, because we're the party of states' rights!

The Texas state government has been carefully designed to ensure that this idiot and people of the same caliber retain power, public opinion and voting be damned.

The state government and constitution need to be torn down to the bedrock and built anew as something not Reconstruction-era-stupid.

What makes you think Texas is interested in finding the *best* people to hold office?

I go back and forth about what I think is the just outcome of the Confederate military leaders. I think they were soldiers and played that role. I can find some sympathy in my heart.

Regarding the civilian leaders of the rebellion, however, I'm more clear-eyed and utterly without sympathy, and I think a rather more severe and far-reaching set of penalties were warranted. Those were the men who brought sedition to the nation. So, every signatory to an article of secession, every member of a secession-advocating correspondence committee, every elected representative or senator in the Confederate state legislatures, every elected member of a Confederate state's executive branch, every elected or appointed member of a Confederate state's judicial branch, every member of both houses of the Confederate Congress, all Confederate cabinet secretaries, all members of the Confederate Supreme Court and its subordinate courts, and all elected officials in the executive branch of the Confederate States of America deserved to have been tried, convicted, and hanged, their bodies then burned and their ashes scattered far out to sea.

There may be some I'm omitting, but it's late here and I'm tired.
