SirDigbyChickenCaesar: Why do you want them to fail? As far as I can tell they just have fun, film it, and a bunch of kids enjoy watching it.

After the last 30+ years, I get really, really suspicious of anyone trying to get kids involved in religion. For a variety of reasons.

Because they are right now shopping around major cities for sucker city-planners to publically fund their giant wedgie HQ.  $100m isn't what *they* plan on paying, they are hoping to get your mayor and city council to float that cost as a municipal bond in an urban redevelopment bid--their jarhead villain lair in your former "urban blighted" (coughethniccoughcough) neighborhood.  They'll put up a fractional amount and reap the benefits, while the taxpayers will be left with yet another collossal empty stadium/mall/officeplex and the debts to pay off over the next 20 years.

Lsherm: The new three-story HQ building will feature a 330-foot "trick-shot tower," a Dude Perfect museum, mini golf, a merch store, restaurants and 2 acres of outdoor space. The facility could cost as much as $100 million to build, the group told the Dallas Morning News.

Oh good, that should bankrupt them sooner.

How many people watch these guys? They were entertaining the first two times I saw them, then I was like "meh -seen it."

My eight year old son loves to watch them.  I believe he is their target demographic.

Honestly I didn't want them to fail until the second I read they wanted to spend $100 million on a Dude Perfect "Center" people could visit. I was genuinely indifferent to them, and even I get excited sometimes when they pull off a stunt that looks impossible because I'm sure they've done it 300 times before it finally succeeds. Just because I got bored with their videos doesn't mean I think they do a bad job - they are great at it.

If this makes any sense at all, and it probably won't because I'm crazy, it's because I think they are stepping too far outside the lane they've built for themselves. Then again, I also didn't know they were a Christian group at all, so maybe they do a bunch of stuff outside of the YouTube channel I don't know about. Maybe the YouTube channel is just one of their lanes.

So touche', now that you made me think about it, maybe I don't want them to fail at all. It was just a knee-jerk reaction to what I perceived as a stupid idea that might not be stupid if I had more information about the group as a whole.

Wow, it's going to take a massive amount of composite video editing to make this complex a reality.

So that is a drop tower. But the tension skin cover reminds me of a Canadian stadium where they were never happy with the installation.

Yeah, that sounds about right. That probably means they can keep going for years, or at least until their backs give out.

Christians blowing 100 million on a "throw things good" theme park instead of actual goddamn charity? sounds about right.
