It's okay to give handouts when it's about sticking it to the libs.

One could always use less gas

Ah yes, deregulation is sure to bring down prices for consumers. Those oil companies would surely choose to stop shoveling in record profits if only the government would get out of their way and let them do it.

I filled up for like 2.70 on Tuesday... so that was nice.

/I'm sure it'll temporarily skyrocket thanks to a massive hurricane currently obliterating florida.

I assumed Subby was talking about Biden draining the SPR ahead of midterms.

That oinker in her SUV might be better off riding a bike to work instead of spending fitty bucks a day on fuel ⛽.

KMA.  In the last 2 weeks, gas here shot up from $5 to $6.09/gal.

Florida doesn't have refineries to the extent Tejas does, so we *should be good.

$5.89 here at my station in San Diego. Up from $5.05 3 weeks ago. I think it was $6.15 at its highest point a while back. Drove by a station in another part of town yesterday where it was over 7 bucks.

The Levittown gas station was the last stop on Americans for Prosperity's national "True Cost of Washington" campaign that toured the nation to highlight inflation and call out government spending that the group deems unnecessary.

Eat shiat, Teabaggers.

Why do I get the feeling that "Americans for Prosperity" is paying the difference using donations they were given from conservatives that can't put two and two together?

I work at a Nebraska convenience store, our price for unleaded is $2.34/gallon.

From the Article: he was happy Americans for Prosperity were picking up some of the bill for customers at his station.

I totally agree with their position that massive corporations should subsidize goods to make them cheaper for ordinary consumers

Fatty has a 250 mile daily commute and she blames her problems on gas prices?

Too fat for the train?

I use 93 and I don't think that's gone down the entire time around me.

I'm guessing you have zero gas taxes.

How much you want to bet these people are idling, burning gas, while waiting in line so they can save a couple pennies?

It's the principle.  Biden CANNOT IMPEDE OUR RIGHT TO DRIVE.

Same for me I use 93 in a couple of cars I have, it's about 4.30 or so. I can also get 91 ethanol free that's cheaper than then 93 if I'm around that station.

and,

FTA: Fran said her older SUV had some mechanical troubles a few weeks back and it burned more gas than it should have, causing her to spend $50 per day as she commuted between Levittown and Philadelphia.

Fran, in just a couple of days you could have paid for the o2 sensor that was likely the culprit.

Destroying the catalytic converter, too. Expect that to act up soon if it hasn't already.

Not to mention extra wear on the pistons and cylinders with all that excess fuel washing down the cylinder walls. And excess fuel getting into the oil.

If you have the need and means to get a cheap EV (like a LEAF), do so. If that is not an option because of income or travel distance, don't. Solar panels + EV = $0 fuel price. When we switched to a Telluride from a T4, 1) fuel efficiency almost doubled, 2) premium gas was no longer needed, and 3) the limited range LEAF meets 99% of our travel needs. The Telluride gets filled up about every 2 or 3 months. The LEAF is essentially free transportation (except for window washer fluid).

I've been somewhere near $5.50 anytime I've been there. But since I drive < 2k/yr that means my observations may lack data points. I need to fill up again, so we'll see

I mentioned in an earlier thread that 93 used to cost 50 cents/gallon more than 87 in my town... after everything going up and back down, 93 is magically $1.40/gallon more than 87.  (And even 91 is $1.30/gallon more than 87.)

I don't know who exactly is getting that extra 90 cents or a dollar per gallon, but they ain't getting it from my old beater.

Although there was an attendant at each pump, their purpose was not to fill customers' tanks. The Americans for Prosperity staffers were there to help their captive audience understand their message and to distribute swag bearing the slogan "Pay More, Get Less."

I'll happily pay more to not be blethered at by them.

I have noticed that there are no "I did this" stickers at the pumps anymore.  Wonder why.
