The right wing pieces of shiat in SCOTUS think they are running a Star Chamber. They might not be wrong. Hopefully the Dems can increase their hold on the House and Senate so we can either impeach some of these farkers or expand the court and pack it with liberals and put an end to this bullshiat

When a random person can guess the outcome of a case which has yet to be argued based solely on which political party wants which outcome, yeah, the concept that maybe it's not an impartial court might come up.

Or, here's another idea, why don't you point out the cases (not 9-0) where you decided against the party with an amicus brief from the Federalist Society?

2022-09-29 4:07:05 PM
How about not relying on the shadow docket to arbitrate decisions being a step in the right direction?

2022-09-29 4:33:06 PM
I don't question your integrity Mr. Alito, I deny its existence.

2022-09-29 4:33:46 PM
I'll question whatever the hell I want, asshole.

Even if we do gain, neither of those is going to happen.

"But saying or implying that the court is becoming an illegitimate institution or questioning our integrity crosses an important line," he said.

You don't get a say in this buddy. The rest of the country thinks all of the conservatives on SCOTUS are all corrupt lying scumbags and there ain't a blessed thing you can do about it. Well other than not be scumbags...but we all know conservatives are liars.

Ah, Associate Justice Dunning-Kruger. Thinks he's the smartest person in any room he's in, while constantly proving he's not.

2022-09-29 4:36:52 PM
"Crosses an important line" says a couple of the SCOTUS justices (including the chief) who suddenly, and unironically, became unaware of the 1st amendment.

Sorry boys, do you feel entitled to a bit more privacy?

2022-09-29 4:36:56 PM
Yeah, I don't question the integrity of the rightwing zealots on the Court. I know they don't have any.

Rattlehead: I'll question whatever the hell I want, asshole.

Exactly.

"Stop judging us!"

Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which the abuser attempts to sow self-doubt and confusion in their victim's mind. Typically, gaslighters are seeking to gain power and control over the other person, by distorting reality and forcing them to question their own judgment and intuition.Nov 4, 2021. A classic example is this recent quote from Supreme Court Justice John Roberts -
"simply because people disagree with opinions is not a basis for questioning the legitimacy of the court."

2022-09-29 4:38:31 PM
Alito and his Federalist stooges crossed the line first.

2022-09-29 4:39:12 PM
So if the GOP shut down the government, doesn't that mean SCOTUS security goes home for the duration?

2022-09-29 4:39:23 PM
"But saying or implying that the court is becoming an illegitimate institution or questioning our integrity crosses an important line," he said.I agree.  And it's a line that must be crossed!!

Oh yes, the man who's draft statement on stripping women of bodily autonomy was quoting a 17th century scholar who thought being raped was the natural condition of women and anyone who said otherwise was a witch needing to be burned. Real integrity.

How about making every document and email in these decisions available for public viewing online?

2022-09-29 4:40:33 PM
WRONG! In a representative democracy it our job to question every single minute of your life as it pertains to  judicial decision making

2022-09-29 4:42:06 PM
There is no questioning the legitimacy of the SCOTUS. As long as the insurrectionist's compromised spouse continues to have a seat on the bench, the SCOTUS itself has already answered that question for us.

Decorus: How about making every document and email in these decisions available for public viewing online?

How about we figure out what Thomas and his wife talked about and also figure out who paid off beerbro's debt? Seems like that would probably be more interesting and lead to some impeachments

There's a QI episode which featured a question about using the neck of a goose as toilet paper. [a reference to Rabelais]  The comic Sean Lock said that the best part was turning the goose's head around to mock it. That's basically what Alito is doing to us. Sam, you can't treat people like ass-wipes and expect respect in return. [He doesn't really. He just enjoys treating people like ass-wipes.]

2022-09-29 4:43:10 PM
Sammy, you cited a law from Dark Ages England to justify a ruling, even though the U.S. fought two wars to tell the Crown to get out and stay out.

You never had any integrity.

Perhaps the surprise court should not have crossed the line into illegitimacy itself.

2022-09-29 4:46:52 PM

Glorious Golden Ass: What an illegitimate fool.

It has been opined by many that Thomas is the worst SCOTUS justice. He is awful, but to truly appreciate abject farkery existing on that bench, one must only skim Alito's revanchist, pablum to come to the conclusion that compared to Alito, Thomas is nothing but a piker.

Maybe now that Italy wants Mussolini, Jr., Sammy will want to return to his homeland.

The good thing is with legal president out the window with Roe v Wade;  a liberal court can now reinterpret the 2nd amendment just as easily as removing reproductive rights.

"Questioning our integrity crosses an important line! Now let's get back to discussing how women should not be allowed to make decisions about their own health care, decisions which literally involve life or death, without the permission of each state's legislature, in accordance with the wishes of that state's most influential Christians."

Especially since those same Trump appointees committed perjury about Roe v Wade during their Senate questioning.

That's an interesting chart, but we don't govern by polls.  If that were the case, Biden would've been ousted long ago.

Mister Alito, people earn respect. Institutions earn integrity. Both are not graced from up on high.

Respect and integrity can equally be destroyed.

2022-09-29 4:50:29 PM
Beer Bro had his $200,000 credit card debt and million-dollar house paid off before he went before Congress. (how does someone even have that much credit card debt?) Another justice defaults to a cult for her rulings. And today, the wife of a SC justice went before a Congressional committee to talk about the many ways she tried to overthrow an election in the United States. Spare me the whining about questioning the integrity of the Supreme Court when it's packed with charlatans and thieves.

2022-09-29 4:50:35 PM
None of this will matter soon. I've been assured by the homeless man that lives across from my building that the world will end on October 17th, at 3:47 PM CST. Assuming that he is correct, none of us will have to face the consequences of the supreme courts terrible, terrible decisions.

Yet.

I couldn't agree more. It crosses the line between allowing corrupt pieces of shiat like Alito to go unquestioned and being willing to face up to the truth.

I imagine they merely lied. As we learned during the Clinton era, perjury and lying are different beasts.
