Claire has discovered thermodynamics.

Run.  Hide.

I use frozen mango chunks in mine.  I like mangoes but hate prepping them.

Just like my personal life.

Full of fruits, flakes, and nuts.

Last month of Tuesday farmers market each time I bought pound bags of raspberries. Smooshed them up, placed in a large ziploc bag, flattened it out to 1/4 inch thick, pop it in the freezer. I can break off any size peice of raspberries I want. Raspberry sun tea is delicious, strain it out before putting it in the jug...

I always defrost them first, and stir in the berries after the oatmeal has finished cooking. Blueberry juice makes it a nice violet color... or a little more on the red side.

Mango chunks are good, but they take longer to defrost. Bananas are good, too, but will turn to mush if they're sliced too thin.

Also, the photo in that article shows fresh fruit in the oatmeal.

I just had steel cut oats for breakfast this morning (courtesy of Mr. InstantPot).  Put 1/2 tsp of cinnamon in with the oats... not sure that really added anything.

Added some maple syrup because I forget we also had pecan pumpkin butter (and we are in pumpkin times).  I sliced a bosc pear but served that on the side, not to collide with the pumpkin butter.

Had a mad scramble of a morning yet was sufficiently fueled.

/what was claire talking about, again?

Oh, and at least she doesn't add mayo.

cyberspacedout: Oh, and at least she doesn't add mayo.

That we know of...

I mean, she could have done some mayo in oatmeal experiment but never got around to writing about the results. Or someone on social media hasn't gotten to doing a mayo in oatmeal viral video.

I like using frozen berries in smoothies - instant soft-serve.

No Claire. Weight lifting was supposed to be the new you.

Steel cut oats and don't be shy with the peanut butter whey.

You're not following the whey. You're promoting carbs on carbs.

Adding whey isolate to hot foods is tricky. It curdles. I just got pb2 the defatted peanut powder, it works better in oatmeal.

Instead of using hot/boiling water, I use coffee. It started as a joke, now it's what I have every morning in cooler weather. I also drink two more cups of coffee on the side, so I've got three cups in me before I have to face the world!
