I get it, because McNeil is exactly who you don't want to face in that spot, but intentionally walking a guy to bring up the guy with all four of a team's RBI is a choice.

Pitching around the guy batting 0.320 to the guy batting 0.240 seems like a good choice. Both were 2-4 up until that point.

True, but Escobar's hiatting .330 in September with like a billion RBI.

I probably would've done the same thing, McNeil is exactly who you don't want to face there. But I'm still gonna make fun of Mattingly's grumpy ass after the fact.
