Chiropractic has always seemed very sketch to me.  Very quack medicine. And when most of the practitioners start going on about the theory of it, what it does or how it works that impression is strengthened.

Have friends who swear by it though.  One says he wouldn't be walking without the treatments.

It seems there is a benefit. Whether or not it's more than a placebo or does more good than harm I don't know.

Chiros are that kid who used to run up to everyone saying "I can pop your back, here grab my arms".

In fairness, it does feel nice.

My aunt was a chiropractor. Eventually became a frequent flyer with the Buffalo police, getting high on opioids and starting fights in the street. There might be some practical aspects of therapeutic value, but it's full of crazy people. Might as well go to the Korean handjob district and get just a massage.

WTF Springer ?

FTA: The book is published by Springer Nature Switzerland. They did not serve Ernst well. ... And there were many typos that should have been caught by any competent proofreader. For example, the country Colombia is mis-spelled "Columbia". And a 4-item list of complications lists "spastic quadriparesis" twice.

Holy farking shiat. @_@

I mean, the quotation at the beginning was bad enough (so there is no alternative medicine, but no-data medicine is a thing???). When I read that, I thought it was a ghostwritten crap. But Springer journals are legitimate peer-reviewed scholarship. This book review should be enough for them to retract the book.

Quite right. The jury's still out on radium water as well. Sure, scientists will tell you that consuming radioactive substances is unhealthy and causes cancer, but a lot of people drank it every day and had nothing but praise for it. Even the man whose jaw literally fell off of his face because of it. You're putting high-tech science energy into your body. How could that not lead to vibrant good health?

Isn't that how all chiropractic training is done?

Just as valid as any other way to call yourself a Chiropractor.
