My guess is no. Republicans love cruelty, and hypocrisy is a cornerstone of conservatism.

Favre is white, so he'll get off scot free with no damage to his reputation.

There is a slight difference. Favre hasn't had a shot at playing QB in over a decade.

So the "punishments" are not comparable.

A better comparison would be what happened when he sexually harassed that reporter or whatever she was.

But yeah, Favre is a piece of shiat. Always has been.

Some people made fun of Tebow?!?  Don't you realize how PERSECUTEDthey feel??? Don't you see they were using Tebow to attack the American way of life????

They had to even score by blackballing Kaepernick; It's how they felt there was some balance in the world.

There's this phenomenon where people just believe that every person is all people. They say things like, "The same people who X now are saying Y!"

It's not the same people. X equals people who watch the thing and feel one way about an issue. Y equals people who watch the thing and feel the other way about the issue.

Believe it or not, not all NFL fans were upset with Tebow kneeling. So when you heard people complaining, you heard a different set of people. Later, when people were complaining about Kaepernick kneeling, it wasn't the same people that were upset with Tebow kneeling.

Just putting it into that binary situation is still not even one percent as nuanced as each individual person who watches the thing feels about an issue. Then add in the fact that there isn't just one issue.

The idea that everybody who likes one thing likes all the same things is asinine.

he has to be running for office soon.   You cannot buy the kind of great GOP publicity he is getting, but you can steal it.

This will be forgotten in a week or so and hasn't been making the rounds on ESPN.  Yup, he is going to get away with it.

Can we spare a thought for the unfortunate  association that tall, attractive college volleyball players this bastard has dragging into this?

Add in that ownership didn't exhibit any issue with the Tebow display and the league didn't have to collectively decide how to accommodate Tebows message.

Also....NFL players kneel in presumed thankfulness all the farking time.

Who was "upset" by Tebow kneeling? Many people poked fun at it for being an ostentatious display of piety. This guy got it right:

Mantour: Some people made fun of Tebow?!?  Don't you realize how PERSECUTEDthey feel???

Yes, there is no way to have comparable "punishments", but the value of the comparison is to highlight how they are treated for stealing from the poor vs supporting civil rights.

I'm guessing this is all just the tip (heh) of the iceberg for this asshole.  His reputation needs to be completely burned and the ashes sifted.

what a giant piece of garbage not only stole from the government but also stole from his own charity.

ONE MORE TIME:
Colin Kaepernick was, at best, a middle-of-the-road QB. We're not talking Bradshaw here.

As for Favre, this is the better article., I hadn't realized how much farking bias is inserted into modern "journalism" until I read the story from Jezebel someone submitted the other day. I walked away knowing that Favre had some kind of charity scam, but the entire farking article was just the person's opinion of Favre. I just wanted the actual story. It was like watching Entertainment Tonight for your local news. THanks for this better link, subby.

And that's totally why he suddenly vanished from the NFL, never to return even as a backup, right?

My pointy is that all of this handwringing is ridiculous. The world didn't lose its most talented athlete, EVER, but that's how people are acting. He's nothing special, and got treated as such professionally. Yes, his kneeling was a thing, but he didn't get a different job because he's not only not great, but he bring s a shiat-ton of baggage, and some of it is 100% on him. Maybe if he hadn't turned his practices into PR stunts, I'd feel different, but he was just as complicit. Everyone just keeps pretending like he had mountains of talent and got snubbed anyway.

He would have gotten a job with the Ravens if it weren't for his girlfriend's social media post.

I guess what you're saying it's that it's fair to blackball any athlete who's not Brady or Montana level.

ElFugawz: Who was "upset" by Tebow kneeling?

I don't actually know, but that is a narrative that is put out there.

But there are people that think if you make fun of something, it's because you're "upset" about it.

Look at people who think they're "stigginit" when the people they're stigginit to are laughing at how stupid they are.

People were very unfair to Favre back in the day. It turns out that every picture of him is a dick-pic!

/cus he's a dick!
