.....He's not wrong, though.  He should have kept it in-house, but, there two distinct plays where one, the ball clanked off I think it AJ Green's facemask.  that shouldn't happen at high school level.  another, Andy Isabella (a fan favorite, despite not being very talented) stopped running his route, wasn't even looking for the ball.  had he finished his route, he likely gains another, pffft, 15-20 yards (if not more) after the catch.  but he stopped.

Not saying Kyler is Tom Brady v2.0 but, the receiving corps had a very bad day.  there were other plays that were just well-defensed but those two specifically, had me shaking my head.  "WTF bro?"

I really don't like the guy, he's an asshole. a lot of athletes are... whatever... That's fine.

He is a damn good QB, he has many many issues and I would not want him on my team...

All that being said... how does all the focus go on him and not that absolute joke of a coach?

He's 100% clown shoes.

He needs to learn the difference between reign and rein.

Just a matter of time until the huddle revolts and tells him to go do it by himself, then.

This.

Sounds like his OL is about to let the defense have free reign on him.

It takes work to be the biggest asshole on the field, and by God, this little endeavor seems to be the only thing Kyler is interested in pursuing.

When the offense is "Kyler can do whatever he wants" how do you expect players to help him out? Telepathy? There is a reason that offenses are structured and have these things called "plays".

I bet Kyler doesn't even know what a hot route is, or a protection call. Future gigantic bust gauging by his attitude.

He hasn't exactly earned it, but I'm giving Murray the smallest benefit of the doubt. Sometimes you have to go public. Only time will tell if this was the time and place.

As far as saying he can freelance so be ready, he's not alone, Mahomes, and Allen have the same freedom; although with more success.

Deja vu all over again: As far as saying he can freelance so be ready, he's not alone, Mahomes, and Allen have the same freedom; although with more success.

Sort of. I can't speak to Mahomes, but Allen at least, when he calls his own stuff, he's doing it in the huddle. When he's at the line and sees things, he calls a planned audible with the set he has out - unless it's a rush that he is taking. Allen also has Diggs, who he has almost a telepathic connection with after multiple years together, Stefon can id when a play is blown and get open.

and receivers that don't quit on routes or don't have cast iron frying pands for hands.

semi-in point observation;  granted Randy Moss is going to (already in, i think?) to Canton, but, think of how many more yards, catches, and probably TDs, he'd have if he, at the moment of snap, just kinda jog, knowing that he was the 3rd option.  when the play was called for him, he's be Johnny Route Runner.  When the play wasn't called for him, he'd half-jog / half walk the route.  when the defense instantly saw that, that player could basically go help out on a run play or drop into coverage.

not quite the same thing, Andy Isabella will be out of football in 2 years (hell, when D-Hop's suspension ends, there's already speculation Isabella will be the odd man out, we need more defensive players and he'll be the #5 WR;  that's an easy cut to make.  He's no Randy Moss is the point.  but, RUN THE DAMN ROUTE AND FINIsh iat.

except for the last preseason game, Kliff had him call all the plays.  he knows the playbook and those at the game said after every offensive series, he'd be diagramming the last series to the QBs.  the QB (who was cut for the 53, but I think we signed him tot he 8 man or whatever roster) said Kyler knows the playbook in and out.  As has McCoy, the #2 backup.  (who didn't play I think due to injury, but we didn't want to make things worse so I don't think he played the last 2 preseason games.

the whole "hurp derp derf, he just freestyles all the time" is BS.  the Cards really screwed him with the "thou shalt study the playbook", thats always gonna a black mark on his resume and it's complete BS.

I dunno man, his own comments seem to suggest otherwise.

Kyler is a confident young man, maybe to the point of hubris. There is more to winning than him doing it all, and until he realizes that and embraces it, he's just going to do this cancerous shiat over and over. You think the other players appreciate being called out in public, repeatedly? It effects their bottom line too if you think about it. Honestly I have less of an issue with him not studying, but him choosing to act more like Aaron Rodgers who acts sometimes like he is God's gift to football. This isn't an isolated occurrence, and to me, the attitude can also be revealing about how he feels about game prep and game planning.

None of it is wrong, exactly. But the fact that he brings it up in the context of what is wrong with the offense? That's a dick move. Worst case - say I gotta work harder to mesh with the receivers.

I think this was a quoted response, no? In which case the reporter needs to get it straight, which is worse.

like i said above ,keep this shiat inhouse.  it is petulant and shows a lack of leadership / locker room awareness.  "I gotta play better, I missed some throws out there."  they're cliches because they're true.  "Guys need to awake" or whatever that comment was, oy."

There's a difference between knowing his playbook and breaking down the opposing defense. He admittedly doesn't spend a lot of time doing the latter.

Didn't AJ Green do the exact same thing last year against the Packers on the last play?

Kliff Kingsbury sucks. A fish rots from the head down.  Not saying Kyler is right going public with this but if all players aren't giving 100% in the NFL you will lose. There is not enough margin for error to take plays off and if players are taking plays off that's on the coaching staff.
