The report stated Jones used "disturbing language" and there is "no place in professional football" for what he said.

"All I'm saying is maybe we should join the rest of the world and stop calling it 'soccer' and call our sport something else. That's all I'm saying."

The NFL by not releasing what a black player said that is obviously not appropriate to a white player is just another cover up of bad behavior that we see every day from the media and politicians. If the rolls were reversed and a white player said something inappropriate to a black player we would have known about before the game ended as the announcers of the game and the media would have been relentless to uncover what was said.

That's how he rolls. Phoc Hu.

I'm pretty sure use of the n-word is the only automatic flag for language I've seen - regardless of who says it and what the context is, the laundry flies.

I made a comment earlier tonight that I guess went out over the air that I am deeply ashamed of ... I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith, as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos that will be a home run and so that'll make it a 4-0 ball game

I can think of few things more deserving of a flag.

Well there's also the obligatory "refs stole the game from the chiefs" comments.  Yeah, sure, the refs fumbled that punt and gave the colts the ball on the 3 yard line.  The refs caused them to miss that field goal, and attempt a fake field goal on a 4th and 11.

If you can't tell us why you called a penalty, don't call it.

And don't be saying shiat to lose a game for your team.

Just MHO, but who gives a flying fark what players say to each other? If a player gets taunted or insulted by an opposing player, and said player gets offended, so what? How the fark is that the equivalent (penalty-wise) of a cheap shot, low-hit, or other shiat that can end a playing career. If your skin is so thin that you can't take trash-talking, maybe choose another career. Honestly, how is that even football? When did football decide players had to be freakin' polite to each other???

I don't think it's so much about preventing hurt feelings as it is about preventing fights from breaking out.  Players routinely talk trash and most of the time the refs don't care, but there are limits to everything.  That's why penalties exist for unsportsmanlike conduct and taunting.  It's a very physical game and emotions can run hot.  If the refs don't keep a lid on things it can easily boil over into a brawl, and the NFL has decided players fighting on the field is a bad look.

Without knowing more details it's hard to say if it was a justified call or not.  But the fact that no one involved is willing to repeat what was said leads me to think it was particularly vile.

Yeah...I kinda buy that, but the way to control fighting is easy. Institute a league-wide rule that any fighting, beyond shoving that is, means automatic 4 game suspension without pay. Second fight doubles it, and third is a full year's suspension. I'd love to see the NFLPA try to argue why that is "unfair." S'rsly, if players cannot control their temper, fark 'em. Yeah, it's a violent game. Easy solution...don't be a football player. Talk about a bunch of spoiled millionaire babies. If $5 mil a season (which is low for an average salary) can't get you to walk away from an insult, no matter how vile, you need counseling. Just my opinion, but words are only words. I get punching some guy who went low on your QB (although that's stupid too), but someone insults you, just walk the fark away.
