Better than the plateful of bullshiat that DeSantis and his minions fed them.

YOU MONSTERS!!!!

All I know about Martha's Vineyard is that it's full of rich white people and they filmed Jaws there (there are no minorities in Jaws). Who thought they'd roll out the red carpet?

Usually the only minorities on the Cape and islands are the goddamn Irish.

These are the same people that criticize food stamp recipients for getting "junk" food, or food that's "too good" for them.

Generally, off brand Rice Krispies are good.  Generally, off brand Cheerios are terrible.

Maximizing the amount of food that can be purchased on a budget rather than giving them a more expensive but identical brand? String these monsters up!!!ONE

2022-09-28 1:07:53 PM
Are they so farking stupid that they don't realize that the generics of most things are made in the same processing plants on the same farking equipment as the name brand shiat?

God damn we give too many subsidies to right wingers, they don't know the value of a farking dollar if it fell out of the sky, landed on their face and started to farking wiggle.

More nutritious than being fed lies.

Do you think they thought this was a "ha got'm" moment, or do you think it was a, "who cares what it says just do something to get attention" moment?

When it's pretty clear that your fash daddy's little stunt has failed spectacularly, it's probably best to stfu cause you can only dig your hole deeper at that point.

Man, it must be like hell living inside a conservative's head.

2022-09-28 1:11:33 PM
To be fair, the same pictures that show the off-brand Rice cereal also display premium brands like real Froot Loops and Corn Pops.  But it IS a funny take...

It can be hit or miss and that puts a lot of people off from finding better and cheaper alternatives. Malt-o-Meal has a lot of winners. For example, Golden Puffs are objectively better than Honey Smacks and are pretty addictive.

A real surprise was Happy Shapes, the house brand Lucky Charms from Piggly Wiggly. I swear it's exactly like the real deal except with the original formula. The first time I had them I ate the entire box!

It's all they got. Martha's Vineyard didn't squeal and wave their hands in the air over the icky people, so they gotta spin it somehow that they GOT the Libs.

The submitter has apparently never known New England rich people.  They will have million dollar homes, luxury cars, but also stock their house with store brand grocery store items like cereal, soap, paper towel, soft drinks, etc.  It's like a subconscious behavior. I don't know where it comes from, but it's like there's a filter on money-spending where something drops below a certain level of importance and their shopping style flips from "luxury" to penny-pinching.

Not a criticism.  I do it too.  I think it's just multi-generational Yankee practicality being passed down.  Designer clothing for work and fancy events, yet the pair of work shoes you wear around your palatial yard will be duck taped together with holes in them.

2022-09-28 1:12:34 PM
So in other words, they've got nothing to defend this terrible action by DeSantis?

I had no idea how often I commit crimes against humanity on myself.

2022-09-28 1:12:52 PM
They paid good stolen taxpayers dollars for this publicity stunt damn it, and by God, they're going to make hay of it.

2022-09-28 1:12:58 PM
I made them brand name using my mind, everything is fine.

2022-09-28 1:13:13 PM
I buy the generic version once a year to make the chocolate/peanut butter treats.  It tastes exactly the same.

Then I go and throw paper towels at folks at the local food bank, as completely sane people do.

Your concern for the migrants is noted, Idaho Tribute. Maybe you should bring the migrants to Idaho and make sure they're fed steak and lobster, since it's such an outrage to you how poorly they're being fed. Bet you'll get right on that.

These people are sick. Ship people off to who knows where, from ANOTHER state's governor, so obviously HE doesn't have an immigration problem if he has to go to another state for it, lie to them, lead them on, and they have no problem with any of that, but then get mad at the food they give them?? Unreal.

Kroger makes a peanut butter flavored cheerios knockoff that's very good.

Conservatives are actually making themselves look even worse with this crap. That lack of empathy is really kicking them in the balls.

This just in, actual wealthy people are cheap.

They clearly should've just to dumped out the Rice Krispies (or Crisp Rice) on ground in front of the migrants.

You know: like the good folks at the U.S. Border Patrol.

Being rich, and being wealthy are different things.

If you are rich, food is food. All your money goes to cars, boats, second homes, vacations.

If you are wealthy, you have a personal chef, and you will fire them on the spot for not rolling hand made corn flakes for you ever day, don't you dare use that peasant food on me!

Fun fact: Martha's Vineyard is home to the Wampanoag Tribe reservation.

And distract from the fact the GOP were trafficking migrants illegally; one of the things they claim to be against.

/makes you wonder about minorities second amendment rights being infringed by GOP gun laws in the 70s.

Lies

It wasn't tax payer's dollars. Only a corrupt governor would pay significantly more for essentially the same item, like $12k+ per person for a one way plane ticket.

Not really.  I've eaten all manner of store brand Cheerios from Trader Joe's to Stop and shop and they all seemed about the same.  I speak only of plain Cheerios.

I rarely eat cereal now though.  Things may have changed.

Next thing you're going to tell me is that some old dude in Mass. still driving a Volvo 240 from 1989 is probably from an old money family and is worth over $5 million.

the rich people left the island because the season was over. the "normal" folks stay

2022-09-28 1:19:15 PM
Ive gotten to where i actually prefer the generic cereals.... last month I stayed a few days at my folks house, it had been 10+ years since i had had actual raisin bran... like actually from kelloggs... its not near as good as malt-o-meal raisin crunch.
