The truely terrifying thing is that so many people go "Oh, let's make it better" instead of "STOP!!!!  SMAsh iat!!!! SHOOT THE ASSHOLE WHO BUILT IT!"  Seriously people, have you not watched any SF robot movie?

Came in to say this. In my glory days I was running a 10.5-11 sec 100m in track. No way could i do that now but still...

Stibium: Humans didn't become the apex of apex predators because we were particularly fast or strong. What we lacked in hide thickness and claws and teeth we more than made up in physical stamina. So what if a deer can run much faster? While it's lying on the ground recovering from its sprint we are still trucking along towards it. Eventually we just tuckered our prey out, allowing us to beat it to death without fighting back.

Pretty nifty evolutionary niche if I do say so at the top of the skull heap.


I was mostly making joke in the style of Terminator.  But yes, you're correct - when talking about natural predators.  Persistent predation and land stamina are things we're pretty much the best at.

But we're not evolved to hunt/evade metal murder machines with infrared tracking sensors, Howitzers, and RPGs.

Other than the laser guided weapon systems they install on it, it's ability to track you by heat and sound, and the fact that there would be hundreds of them hunting you during the coming invasion.

But sure, the ability to outrun it for a bit is comforting....

It's pretty cool. When I was in high school, machines could barely walk and researchers were trying to learn if running and jumping were even possible.
Now...about my exoskeleton linked to brain implants...
