Afghanistan is the no-win scenario.

We leave, the Taliban uses it as a base to train terrorists.
We stay, we're a target, we bleed soldiers.

What we NEED to do is stomp the ever loving shiat out of the Taliban in the Suat Valley in Pakistan.

And make sure Pakistan understands that if this shiat happens again, we're coming back, and we're not going to be as nice the second time.

Aka, 12 people who a reporter saw and weren't males age 16-55 that we could claim were enemy combatants.

The phrasing is very specific - US Military Operations. A lot of the drone strikes that have collateral are CIA ops because CIA doesn't care about any Collateral damage they cause (see the 1960s/70s/80s etc....)

Pfffffffft. We've killed a million+ of our own people in less than 2 years because staying at home is too difficult, mask hurt face and ooooga boooooga vaccine.

remember when drones were worse than hitler, what with ability to loiter and discriminately aquire targets rather than incinerating the whole area like artillery.

Now we see what real dumb war is like.

Should I be more upset about that or Sleepy Joe ending the conflict? Is there a Fox News segment to straighten this?

Blowing up a van with an entire family inside to get one target is one kind of evil.  Shelling an apartment block filled with hundreds of families so the building can't be used as cover during your occupation is another.

Sort of like how some infinities are larger than others.  It's quantifiable.

"All nationalists have the power of not seeing resemblances between similar sets of facts. A British Tory will defend self-determination in Europe and oppose it in India with no feeling of inconsistency. Actions are held to be good or bad, not on their own merits, but according to who does them, and there is almost no kind of outrage - torture, the use of hostages, forced labour, mass deportations, imprisonment without trial, forgery, assassination, the bombing of civilians - which does not change its moral colour when it is committed by 'our' side... The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them."

Just remember, any Government that engages in extra-judicial (guilty as fark or not) executions is one that can change from "them" to "you" in a heartbeat.

That's disappearingly small compared to Trump's 1,000,000 Americans.

U.S. sources: Anyone killed by a drone strike, active gunfire, any other munitions, bulldozers, bayonets, sneezing by soldiers, or most any other way is automatically an enemy combattant.

Survey says...

Yes, Pakistan has nukes.

Telling them what to do becomes a little more difficult in that scenario.

14 dead to extricate us from a no win solution that would have continued to eat money and lives for the foreseeable future, until some president was willing to take the inevitable hit that withdraw required.

This site was a haven for George W. Bush and War on Terror apologists who've since tried to pretend they hadn't supported them, even though several Ukraine threads have shown that they've learned nothing from the past 20+ years.

Even so, is it just me, or are the reactions today sh*ttier than usual? Because christ, I feel like people don't care what's being said, only who's saying it. I guess we're just less petty and dishonest than that.

There's like a 100% overlap between them and people who are really, really angry at Edward Snowden for exposing Bush's crimes against the American people.

Just like there is 100% overlap between people fine with Russian colonialism in Ukraine, and people who don't think the Nazis were so bad for committing genocide against the Jews.

Are any of those murders? They aren't? Whaddya know, that might be the reason people are making a fuss about it.
