It's always the ones who constantly rave about their family and wife. They are trying compensate for something.

I'm sure the other three will be fine. I enjoy their videos and they have a loyal fan base. My biggest worry for them is the legal issues related to the building of their business. I suspect some attorneys are getting handsomely paid right now.

They're pretty big online. It's basically blowing up on social media right now. So CNN is just following the story.

Oh these are some stupid American idiots?

Yeah. The Try Channel is where I see things. Irish perspectives are always fresh perspectives.

A new secular morality is filling in for the moral high ground the religious bigots and hypocrites left when they endorsed TFG. Celtics coach, Adam Levine, Emily Ratajkowski's husband, Internet famous guy...

As long as it doesn't create the Church Lady version of woke, it's not a terrible thing for people to face some consequences for their own actions.

You're not wrong, but despite his pure WASP smarm he comes across as a genuinely nice and likable guy and is the only one of the four with real Daddy energy if that was someone's thing.  They're going to have a real gap in their dynamic now that it's just hurt/comfort nerd, food nerd, and sexy misanthrope.

To expand, I don't believe this decision was based on the morality of the issue.  If it was I think they'd have gone a different route and had some kind of rehabilitative content to work with.  Not even the morality of their audience.  Despite occasionally watching myself I'm convinced their audience is at least 70% women and I believe this decision is based on the fact that they are very good at crafting the narrative of their channel and understand that part of their appeal is that all four are absolutely 'safe' male friends in a parasocial sense.

I think the decision is based off the fact that he slept with an employee which creates huge legal problems for the company. Things may have been different if his affair had been with someone else.

She's not innocent, but don't diminish her position because she is female.  She was an Associate Producer, and she knew exactly what she was doing.

Not quite.  She was another producer on the show, and an on-screen talent for a number of their videos.  Everyone knew what they were doing, but it's still a shiatty situation of a boss/owner being involved with someone they have a lot of power over.

If you watch their material, they're pretty obvious in their behind-the-scenes stuff about how their real personalities differ from their on-screen personas.  Ned pushes the wholesome, clueless, nice-guy dad in their bits, but he's really competitive, prideful, and status-focused.  Yale, chemistry degree, the business guy, etc.

The whole thing had a ticking clock anyway.  Eugene has been one foot out the door for around 2 years, wanting to do more artistic work and focusing on LGBT communities elsewhere.  Keith's goal is being a late night host and improv guy.  Zach is the only one that think the TG are long term, and that's because he's focused on writing and content creation as a career.  He can work just about anywhere in the business.

I honestly didn't know her job.  I got to the PR newspeak and bailed.

Everything is Awful: [Fark user image image 425x363]

I'm with you there. Cant recall the last time I would've said "who" and meant it. Watch a good amount of youtube content, and I've never seen a video pop up of them as a suggestion or heard anyone ever even mention them. From what I can gather from this thread I don't really have any desire to check them out, but I honestly can't believe I've never even heard of them and they seem to be as popular as they are.
