In a sane world, this man would have been jailed decades ago, simply to halt the spread of corruption and bile.

Roger Stone is proof that the American Experiment is in failure mode.

The greatest joke I've heard was told recently by Merrick Garland. He said...*chortle*...get this...*snrt*..."no one is above the law" *guffaw*.

Roger Stone is obviously considered above the law by Garland and the DOJ. That's the only explanation for why he's free right now.

Good, hope he gets dragged in front of them and made to speak and then taken out back and shot.

I think that's probably his default status. Imagine what life would be like if you literally hated everything and everyone around you.

Everybody's luck runs out sooner or later. Roger Stone was lucky for many years because he put himself several degrees away from the front line. He manipulated and did his evil from a distance for years.  But he believed the Trump pardon made him invincible so he started to get careless. He worked too close on the front lines. He also wallowed in the peripheries of craziness for so long he got sucked in. Like Alex Jones, he marinaded in it for  too long.

Exactly.  When Stone, Trump, and the rest of these child-like imbeciles are getting mad and calling people like Raskin - who seem intelligent and thorough - "sleazy crooks" in their most 60s cartoon villain choice of phrasing possible, they're just demonstrating their own lack of intellect and lack of understanding of how any processes actually work.  The problem is there are too many people that are hearing them, and not enough people who are actually paying attention.

And with any luck we'll get to see him dragged off to prison again, with the knowledge that his fat orange daddy won't be able to pardon him out this time.

Roger Stone complaining about "sleazier crooks" overloads my irony meter. That dude is practically a Batman villain.

It's like a we have a bad rogues gallery from a crappy political satire of Batman trying to take over the country, although Greg Abbott has more of a Davros thing going on.

These assholes are constantly raging. It's a day ending in -y. They're raging when they're losing, they're raging when they're winning, they're miserable angry old limpdicks who want to drown the world in their shiat. Wake me up when they're quiet.

Why are there so many muppet looking assholes in the GQP. Just look at that melon. DeSantis, Gowdy... so many look like they should have blind hands fumbling around in front of them like the Swedish Chef or Sam the Eagle, or Honeydew.

What crimes is Raskin allegedly guilty of?  Please do enlighten us. He's my Congressman, and I want to know.  See, I won't vote for him if there are credible accusations, unlike GQP who actually love their pols to be as corrupt as a vat of rotting cheese.

Its not really that -- Stone understands how government works, just fine. And intellectually, he gets it that the Republican vision for America since Nixon is a losing proposition, long-term.

He just doesn't give a s*** and wants Republicans to have power, anyways. And is willing to kill American Democracy in order for that to be achieved.

If Merrick Garland did his job, Stone would be in prison for the crimes that Trump did not pardon.

It sickens me that so many people can't wrap their heads around that fact - or, don't care because they want the avenue available for when it's their turn.

Stone was pardoned by Trump but surely there's enough evidence of illegal bullshiat he's involved in that there's something that doesn't cover.

All the times we've seen someone get slammed by the justice system over nothing and for some reason Dollar Store Penguin here is invincible? Seems sketchy.

You make some really great points, and I appreciate your perspective.  There's a big part of me that has a hard time believing someone like Roger Stone exists; I don't understand how anybody would want that and I'm one of those who are not really able - or willing - to wrap my head around that.  I'd blow my own brains out if I were anything like him, but he seems to revel in it.

I probably oversimplify things a bit when I tend to think Stone's like my father-in-law, who is a pretty low IQ sort who thinks he is superior to everyone else:  A little smart at a few things, but mostly just got lucky by picking an easy and predictable path in life and sticking with it, right or wrong.  I hope Roger Stone's life going forward is nowhere near as easy and predictable, and genuinely hope he's completely miserable until he's gone.  It's sad that I think that way about anybody.

Why would NASA waste a perfectly good vending machine sized spacecraft when they could have launched Roger Stone into space to intercept that asteroid?  Who would have disagreed with that option?

Why would you smear his DNA all over an asteroid like that?  Aren't you familiar with the Panspermia theory?  What if his DNA ends up on a distant life-supporting planet that allows his DNA to infect organisms which grow into Roger Stone-descended organisms that eventually evolve to invade Earth?  Think, man!

He actually isn't above the law. The reason he is free right now is because Trump pardoned him, not because of a failure of the DOJ.
