Hated the Spice Girl stuff - but loved this ditty:

It's a pretty shrewd idea. The tweens who were Spice Girl fans are now adults with the money to go to Coachella. From what I've seen from the past five to ten years, main stage headliners are mostly nostalgia acts. There are still great new artists, but they're relegated to second stages.

I've caught Mel C at a few Pride Fests. She's still got it. She's also been a pretty strong booster for the LGBTQ community.

Geri Haliwell in the union jack dress. And then Emma Bunton in all other scenarios

A few years ago I went back and watched Spice World.  It held up incredibly well.  It's still not A Hard Day's Night, but it worked as an homage.

And given how much we've collectively learned or accepted about the way the various entertainment industries work over the last decade or so, yeah I can imagine life is hell for a girl singing group.

/we thought the 90s were so modern and forward-thinking

While Geri was always my favorite of the Spice Girls, Mel C had the best post-band song:

Everything's an ad. We're commodities. Cynical, but at least 33% true.

Spice World and Josie and the Pussycats are both better now than when they were released.

First, I can't believe that song is already 24 years old. WTF?
Second, that one is 100x better than the trash pile that replaced Mel with Pamela Anderson(!?) in the Canadian version a few years later.  Ugh.

Back when I was in high school, their first video was on mtv constantly, and mel c became my favorite because dem nips were poppin'. Not really my cup of musical tea though.
