Great.  Now they're fighting over the ownership of human trafficking crimes.

Sounds like grounds for arrest.

Half this country is in a race to the bottom and I am so sick of watching it.

This is the first time I've seen Florida's state flag. It is bloody ugly. The seal in the middle is an incomprehensible mess and the red "X" on a field of white looks like it's warning people to stay away.

I didn't need a flag to tell me to stay away from Florida, but I appreciate them owning it.

Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida wanted to irritate a set of wealthy, liberal elites when he flew migrants to Martha's Vineyard from Texas, delivering them a slice of the humanitarian crisis simmering along the nation's southern border.

But DeSantis' stunt alsoonly annoyed an entirely different group

File charges for human traffic violations and let them argue it out in court under oath.

It looks like St Patrick's Saltire which was the flag used in Ireland under an order established by George III. It provides the red diagonals in the Union Jack.

One of the things lost in all of this is that people don't know - people who vacation on the Cape and Islands or have their 2nd homes there are wealthy.  BUT People who live there are typically not wealthy.  Many are a generation or two away from being immigrants themselves.  The stunt was doomed to backfire from the start.

"Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida wanted to irritate a set of wealthy, liberal elites when he flew migrants to Martha's Vineyard from Texas"

Good job media relaying the GOP talking point that wealthy folks who vacation in their summer homes on Martha's Vineyard are clearly liberals and that there's not a very ordinary population who live there the other 8 months of the year, such as now when this stunt was pulled.

Backfire to whom? The idiots get to thump their manboobs and watch those [redacted]ets freak out, and everyone else gets lesson number 58008 on why Floriduh and Texass suck.

The only defense I have of that revised seal is that it doesn't contain any gradients. That makes it easier to, for instance, silkscreen onto a T-shirt. And admit it----that is so Florida.

Meanwhile, some elected Republicans are admitting out loud that DeSantis and his people are guilty of human trafficking.

I guess it isn't ironic that these same "illegal immigrants, have built much of the southern tier of states, from California to Arizona and Texas, and more recently up the Mountain West, and across the South, from Lousiana, Mississippi, and Alalbam, across to Georgia into Fla and the Carolinas and generally up from there, to some degree or other. Chicago has a large Mexican migrant pop, etc, etc

I KNOW!

Abbott can take 10,000 Mexicans and airlift them at night into "It's a Small World" and have them sing day and night for McDonald's cheeseburgers. IN MEXICAN!!! No one will be able to stand it any longer. DISNEY WORLD IS RUINED!!!

The X is basically just the Cross of Burgandy. Same as Alabama.

Some say it's a throwback to the stars and bars, others say it's the Spanish heritage.

But the pre 1985 version, the seal looked better.

Florida and Alabama were Spanish territory.

I'm not seeing how that's relevant.  The sentence was about what he wanted to do.  Presumably, stepping on his own dick wasn't his intention.

Progressive Texans have a great opportunity to troll De Santis and his kidnapping stunt now.

By sending the Texas Governor a email or letter saying how sorry they are that De Santis has humiliated him, and how he can do something to undermine De Santis' reputation.

What can we tell Greg Abbott to do?

We can ask him to publicly identify the Texan woman named "Perla" who seems to be at the heart of this scandal, as a potent form of revenge on De Santis, who would prefer this information remain a secret.

That will show De Santis who's boss in these here patriotic parts of Texas!

///and will also show progressives exactly who they need to sue for this outrage, but let's not tell Abbott that's the REAL reason for writing to him!

Seems to me that DeSantis showed up Abbot by putting them on a plane instead of a bus. Abbot comes off looking like a cheap piece of shiat. C'mon Texas, let's see some migrants in first class seats next time around. Or maybe a fleet of limousines in stead of a bus. Also, secede please.
