Welcome, creative Farkers, to the Fark Arting Thread!

Share artwork/creative projects past, present, and in progress, embracing all disciplines and various hobbies or crafts: cooking, baking, brewing, quilting, needlework, sculpting, drawing, painting, metalsmithing, woodworking, found art, digital, film, musical, and more. Anything creative you'd like to show off.

This is a community of inspiration, support, advice, ideas, and techniques. Even if you'd rather not submit anything, feel free to join the conversation. Anyone with experience in a specific discipline is more than welcome to share tips and tricks. This is a gallery, but also a place to talk shop.

If you offer advice or critique, please be kind.

I had a small piece of curly walnut.  It wasn't quite enough for a pen but it fit this pipe kit very nicely.

I have most of my negatives in pages, so I have 2 more rolls to scan, cut, and paginate.

Next is 2 color rolls for the local guy, 3 slide rolls to mail out, and figuring out which film for the next cosplay shoot.

Fixed up some experimental guitars I built a while back but wasn't happy with for various reasons. I've had them tucked away in the closet until I got motivated to deal with them. Now they have new bridges and I've repaired some little cosmetic dings that were bugging me. Now I'll feel better about trying to sell them.

Fretless semi-hollow body electric bass and 8 string classical style acoustic:

educated: Ham Sandvich: My band put a new song out as a single. This one came together very quickly, but it took a bit longer to find a good space to mic amplifiers. My cheap, direct in setup can not handle high gain tracks and makes guitars sound like angry bees in the worst way.

It's on the heavier edge of indie / alternative rock. Starts quiet, gets loud. No vocals on this one, though we're working on that for future tracks.

We're slowly upgrading demo tracks and finishing songs between live gigs. Hopefully, we will get a full length released before spring.

I love a rocking instrumental. Nice work!

Thank you!

Can't do smooth gifs on my phone. It is all copper and weighs about 40 lbs. It is my life story. I was born in chaos. Later achieved some kinda balance and will die. I thought I got heavy metal poisoning while wearing a P-100 mask and cutting on it but that turned out to be a one day virus my wife gave me when she returned from a sister trip. This sculpture is right on time for Halloween which I make many for, that still hang littering my yard.

I've decided I'm going to call this one done. It's watercolor. (You can see its evolution in previous f'artiste threads.)  The rock tutorials from last week helped with the background some, thank you for those!
Overall I got more frustrated the closer I got to finishing. Something about the colors isn't quite right. The colors in the original photo were a lot brighter. It also didn't help that I was mixing paints in a darkened room with the light of a projector.
