If Subby was as familiar with alcohol as the headline indicates they'd know that alcohol sales at college venues ceased being noteworthy a few years ago. Therefore, I think Subby was home alone for the first time and proceeded to get smashed on strawberry Bartles & Jaymes after breaking into mom's liquor cabinet.

Sorry to burst your bubble, subby, but it is not uncommon for beer to be served a college football games. At this point Peen State may be one of the last to start.

Ped State took so long for among the same reasons booze sales on Sunday in PA took so long.  T-zone Pennsyltucky politicians.

Couple that with a school that reflexively turns a blind eye to things(like the possible huge revenue of beer sales at a point where 80-100k people gather 6x per year) and you get to be the last to arrive to the party.

Not subby, but when one of the wife's girlfriends once visited from out of town, she was shocked to discover that some colleges sell liquor on campuses at all. So it's still news to some.

Also, fark Penn State. Everyone there from the Dean on down to the students and alumni. You were all more pissed about NCAA penalties than the fact that children were raped! CHILDREN. RAPED. Let that sink in you scumbags. You praised athletics and faux prestige over safety of kids. You essentially said with your protests that sexually assaulting underaged children is ok as long as we win games.

Penn State from now until eternity as an institution deserves as much ridicule as it can get.

I have seen a number of documentaries on the subject. Well about 3 minutes of them anyways, never do make it to the end.

When I was at Caltech, the alumni association would buy kegs of beer and literally give it away free. One game we had a total of 63 people including visiting fans.

Back in college in the eighties we had a beer bar in the student union called blazing saddles. A pitcher of Michelob dark was six bucks, hot dogs 50 cents, spent a bit too much time there. I think it was closed a few years back cause too many people were having long lunches...

I loved going to my high school football games, particularly the home games.  And I spent at least 1/4 of the time actually watching the game!  The rest of the time I was hanging out with my friends, eating popcorn and drinking cokes, taking in the 'general atmosphere', and if we're being honest checking out the cheerleaders. I also love the marching band (my high school had a pretty decent band in the years I was there, it kind of fell apart in the 90s and early 00s, but the last time I visited about 5 years back it was showing good improvement again.) All aspects were more interesting because I knew everyone there.  I knew or was at least passingly familiar with everyone on the football team.  The advantages of a small high school with a good football program, and by good I mean we won multiple state championships over they years, which meant that you had a far better than 50/50 chance of seeing your team win on any given Friday night.

Fast forward to college.  BIg school.  Like one of the largest in the country.  More students and faculty at that university than lived in the county I grew up in.  I got a great education there, but attending sporting events was just not the draw it was when I had such personal connection to the team and the fans who would be there.  If I actually loved/cared about sports I would have gone to some, but I didn't.  The only game I ever went to in college was one home basketball game and that's only because I was in the men's glee club and we were performing at the game.  Can't remember now if it was just the opening national anthem, or if we also did a couple songs at halftime.  I think we did something for halftime too.

As a Penn Stater from far more years ago than I care to admit, there was never a problem getting alcohol into the stadium back in the day.  And the tailgating scene is so absolutely massive that by the time you got in, you rarely needed much more once you got inside to begin with.

Maybe. I mostly feel exploited for the time I spent in sports. School made money, dinged my GPA because athletics didn't count as an AP course.
