Watching him yesterday was tough; he was struggling the whole time with his co-hosts having to help him remembers names of teams and players.

Time to enjoy retirement.

He won those championships when you could be VERY creative with your car building and set up. We found out quite quickly he wasn't the same racer when he switched crew chiefs and the rules changed. IMHO he wouldn't have all of those championships in the current era of spec chassis and parts. Even Hendrick isn't the powerhouse they used to be.

And we also found out he couldn't get away with anything when the fat, brainless, drunken, Oxy-fried and possibly coked out moron was busted in The Hamptons.

Same with Jeff Gordon.  When you have the head of NASCAR call you and your crew chief and tell you immediately after tech inspection NOT to bring that car to another track ever again, that's pretty bad.

He isn't going away permanently, just as a full time racer. So we will still have a chance to continue to jinx him. He is likely to try and do the double (Indy 500/Coke 600), 24 hours of Le Mans, and other events as a 1 off.

Came here to mention this.  His NASCAR career sank like a stone the minute Brian France got yeeted out of the big chair.
