He certainly wants that stock higher than where it is:

Amazon's founder and executive chair of Amazon's board, Jeff Bezos, is the company's biggest shareholder, with 55.5 million shares representing 11.1% of outstanding shares.

Great! Another event where every Amazon warehouse worker is given three straight weeks of work with no days off!

Shiat is getting old. Over done. Soon it will be Prime Week every single week. And then Mid-Summer Super Early Bird Black Friday. And then Spring Break Black Friday. Just like Christmas crap starting in August.

Haven't read much on this yet but curious what their strategy is here. High inventory levels? Figure that shoppers are going to be cash strapped and trying to get the majority of their Christmas gift money before they spend it elsewhere?

Whatever story they decide to tell will put this in a different lens for stock holders.

There is a "prime day" shipping every week.

You sometimes get a digital credit if you use it.  I sometimes take advantage of it if I don't need whatever item I'm buying quickly.  So about 80% of my orders fall into that category.  I usually blow it on some movie rental that I only want to watch once and it isn't on any of the subs I already have.

Couple that with "Today's deals" and yeah, every week, every day, is prime day.

Sorry to have depressed you in pointing out that we are already past your hyperbolic dystopia.

I definitely use my "prime day" / suggested shipping days to get the promotional credits for digital...stuff. It definitely adds up to a movie rental or more per month.

I didn't need anything last Prime Day.

As a society we "shop" and create a lot of demand when seeing sale prices. Unless I know I need something, I don't bother shopping.

It's the same strategy as shops that increase prices to then mark down for a "sale." It's the same stuff available every day for mostly the same prices marketed to people who can't resist a "deal."

Just like how "black friday" sales have basically turned into "black november" now.

Do you have your Halloween stuff yet?  I saw it in the store, and I got a bunch of it.
When is Halloween, and what am I supposed to do?

Blessed be the delivery drivers in the 4-8 AM next morning crew.

I call them the Amazon Wraiths.
