So, he intended to have a negligent discharge is what you're saying?

"He wasn't playing with the firearm. He wasn't handling it in a careless manner," Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said. "He was being conscientious about what he did, but he was doing it in the wrong place under the wrong circumstances."

Ummm... that's exactly what "careless manner" means, IMO.  If he was practicing his handling of the weapon, he shouldn't have been doing it while at his day job.  It also shows an extreme lack of good judgement.  I don't fire weapons regularly and even I know that you ALWAYS ASSUME A WEAPON IS LOADED!!!

hey-suess chri-toes... treat every firearm as if it is loaded!

That is the first rule of fight... Gun club.

2022-09-25 8:03:54 PM
1-Always assume a gun is loaded
2-Do not put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to fire the round you are assuming is in the gun as step 1 is to always assume the gun is loaded.
3-Anytime you discharge a gun accidently or not you are responsible for where that bullet goes and finally ends up.
4-Just because there was no physical injuries and no one was physically hurt does that make it ok for an accidental discharge.
Fire his ass period.

Seriously, and I bet the cop deep throater would also be perfectly fine if a child was killed by this immensely irresponsible cop in this story, just as he saw no issue with actual children being murdered when discussing the hour and seventeen minutes it took Uvalde police to act and not the 12 minutes he kept trying to make happen.

A novel is a novel even if it isn't published. A stack of papers, though, is not.

A co-conspirator exists even if not indicted. The indictment is irrelevant.

A fetus is not a child. A fetus has not been born. A child has. Definitionally.

Yeah and you kept saying the uvlalde police entered the classroom where the shooter was 12 minutes after he entered and began killing kids.

When evidence was presented you were imagining the time frame you vanished.

Maybe you need to take a long hard look in the mirror and see who really has a YOU problem.

Every reputable firearms trainer in the country will tell you rule #1, the first thing they teach, is the firearm is ALWAYS loaded.

Go into any gun store, and ask to see a gun, a gun that has been sitting untouched in a display case all day, and the first thing the clerk does after picking it up is visually confirm it is not loaded. Return the gun to the clerk, who returns it to the display case, and 5 minutes later ask to see the same gun, and they'll do the same thing, first thing after picking it up, they visually confirm the gun is not loaded.

Let's give this deputy every benefit of the doubt and take everything as reported at face value.

You "thought" a gun was unloaded, but did not personally confirm this? You are a dangerous idiot who should never be allowed to touch a firearm.

You were dry-firing in a SCHOOL without knowing your weapon was pointed in a safe direction? You are a dangerous idiot who should never be allowed to touch a firearm.

And those are the best case scenarios, assuming the best about this dangerous idiot. I'm sure the truth is much worse. This dangerous, careless, negligent idiot was probably practicing his quick draw and twirl.

If I worked at this school, or FSM forbid had a child attending, I and they would not enter that school again until this dangerous idiot was fired.

I notice TFA just refers to "the deputy" without giving a name. I'm guessing dangerous idiot is a relative to some local politician, which is why they don't fill his pockets full of rocks and toss him into the nearest body of water.

If not stopped, this dangerous idiot will get someone killed.
