So, when you're in that room...

Now read the book.  It's different enough to still be worth it even after seeing the movie and has an equally good framing device.

Everyone knows the backstory to this scene so I won't condescend to 'splain it but holy shiat, Mandy Patinkin is so good.

I went to The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes back in July and recommend to anyone that loves the movie. It was the first time I'd seen the movie on the big screen and was cool being surrounded by folks and hearing everyone's reactions etc. And it was great hearing stories about the film and cast from Cary Elwes.

I did the same prior to the pandemic, and I echo your strong recommendation.

I could go for a nice MLT right now; mutton lettuce, and tomato sandwich where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe. They're so perky, I love that.

Reminds me of one of the great Andre stories from set.  It was his first week.of shooting and craft services was, to put it lightly, violently British which offended Andres more refined palette.  So after the week wrapped he rented a truck and driver, ferried over to France and returned loaded down with bread, pastries and fine cuts of meat for everyone to have during the second week.

I still don't know how Iñigo and Fezzik know the Man in Black's true love is marrying Prince Humperdink. When they met him, they never spoke of that. They discussed their fight as well as Iñigo's and Fezzik's backgrounds, and then both were rendered unconscious.

The next time we see them Fezzik is on the Brute Squad and Iñigo is sloppy drunk and they both know the Man in Black's true love is marrying Prince Humperdink.

There's a scene missing. Has to be. I can buy Fezzik telling Iñigo, but I don't know how Fezzik knows that Buttercup is the Man in Black's true love. Nobody knows who he is and he's been in the Pit of Despair since they got out of the Fire Swamp.

The book is also great. Basically the exact same as the movie with a little more character background.

There's a traveling show going around to theatres where they screen the film, and Cary Elwes does a Q&A.  I saw it in NH a few weeks ago and it was a lot of fun.

https://www.google.com/search?q=an+inconceivable+evening+with+cary+elwes&rlz=1C1GCEA_enUS785US785&oq=an+inco&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j69i59j46i131i433i512j0i512l2j46i512l2j69i61.1601j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

The audience felt very Rocky Horror during the film.  Cheering at hero entrances, booing villains, shouting lines back and forth.  It was, as I said, a lot of fun.

The Q&A was a mix of well practiced production stories and some softball answers to audience written questions.  It was cute, didn't feel overly forced or perfectly scripted.

I highly recommend it to any fan.

They were part of the kidnapping plot and so they know Buttercup, and they know that "the man in black" risked everything (including scaling the Cliffs of Insanity, fighting the greatest swordsman alive, the strongest man alive, and the ?smartest? man alive) to save her. What else could cause a man to act so crazily but "true love"?
