SpectroBoy: That's glorious.

But for a brief moment I got my hopes up for a movie.

If I could bring a fresh box of cereal, a half gallon of milk, my bowl, and spoon to the theater, I'd sit through a two and a half hour movie of this.

Because this is all of us.

I was more of a Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner and Superfriends fan.

Yeah I remember reruns of Whacky Races, but my Saturday morning schedule was planned around those two, and in between some other Hannah Barbara fare (Speed Buggy, Jabber Jaw, Captain Caveman) and Thundarr

Captain Caveman.  Wow that brings me back.  And the first run of Scooby Doo.  Non Scrappy Doo era.

Had to even do a logistical schedule.

A friend of mine named Mark Evanier was involved with the good Hanna Barbera comics from the 70s. He said there was a Jabberjaws comic book published in France (at least, it wasn't published in the US) that he wrote.
I name drop him mainly because around Christmas time a lot of people take credit for the story about Christmas Carolers at the Farmers Market in LA (guest-starring Mel Torme) that he wrote about.

One of the few three-hour roadshow movies from the era that I thoroughly enjoyed. Production was problematic, but my God the cast serves the ham. My roommate recently got into it as well after it popped up on a Wiki-walk. Haven't seen it for years myself, though.

I've always enjoyed the comics Mark Evanier worked on - particularly his collaboration with Sergio Aragones on "Groo the Wanderer".

I know there were a bunch more - I want to say 'DNAgents', but it's late and I'm in pain and don't want to look it up now.

<adjusts onion on belt>

I miss those days in some ways. When our town got maybe 3 channels the cool thing was that the next day you could always find people to talk to about the show you like and watched last night. It was a shared entertainment experience like seeing a movie together.

Now there are so many choices and discussions are "spoilers".

I'm not saying now is worse, but then had some advantages.

Now get off of my lawn

Oh, this ad has been around for several years now.

A friend sent me a link somewhere around - what?  2015?  2018?  As far as I can tell, this is exactly the same one.

Anyway, not disparaging anyone here who's just discovering it for the first time.  It really is a neat ad, and hey, without this thread, I might never have seen the 'Dungeons and Dragons' live action ad!
