If I could bring a fresh box of cereal, a half gallon of milk, my bowl, and spoon to the theater, I'd sit through a two and a half hour movie of this.

What's funny is I saw that the new Scooby Doo cartoons have Velma using a laptop.  I wonder if the Mystery Machine has GPS and Sirius XM radio.

One of the few three-hour roadshow movies from the era that I thoroughly enjoyed. Production was problematic, but my God the cast serves the ham. My roommate recently got into it as well after it popped up on a Wiki-walk. Haven't seen it for years myself, though.

Probably a coincidence, given that AA-fuel rail dragsters tend to have pretty much that same shape.  So if there's something Freudian going on, it would be in the racing genres they were parodying with him.  The name was nost likely a jab at the 'shining can-do-no-wrong' heroes of yesteryear (see: The Great Leslie from 'The Great Race'.)

People also levy the same implications at rockets, but hey, if you're trying to cut down air resistance, a shape like that is kind of a natural.  And huge slicks for traction on the back of the Turbo Terrific just adds to the image.)

A friend of mine named Mark Evanier was involved with the good Hanna Barbera comics from the 70s. He said there was a Jabberjaws comic book published in France (at least, it wasn't published in the US) that he wrote.
I name drop him mainly because around Christmas time a lot of people take credit for the story about Christmas Carolers at the Farmers Market in LA (guest-starring Mel Torme) that he wrote about.

I've always enjoyed the comics Mark Evanier worked on - particularly his collaboration with Sergio Aragones on "Groo the Wanderer".

I know there were a bunch more - I want to say 'DNAgents', but it's late and I'm in pain and don't want to look it up now.

Remember when you actually had to CHOOSE between channels to watch???
There was serious competition on Saturday mornings.

Had to even do a logistical schedule.
See which had the better plot or cool factor that week.

Those were the days...no VCRs or any recordings.
3 channels.  (by the time there were 4, there were VCRs...doesn't count)

"Don't turn that dial..."

<adjusts onion on belt>

I miss those days in some ways. When our town got maybe 3 channels the cool thing was that the next day you could always find people to talk to about the show you like and watched last night. It was a shared entertainment experience like seeing a movie together.

Now there are so many choices and discussions are "spoilers".

I'm not saying now is worse, but then had some advantages.

Now get off of my lawn
