robodog: The average upright freezer uses 45W on average

An Hour? A year...a minute?
You need to be more specific.

robodog: No, it's not, at all.  The average upright freezer uses 45W on average,

And your 'average' upright freeze is normally a handme down 'tank' that's lasted 40 years for most people. Not some homedespot crap you pick up to drag to your sad little suburban garden home.

JFC if you're buying 3 farken gallons of milk before it goes bad. You have a breeding problem, not a bread problem.
Oh...but nice call on the "Symbolic Sacrificial" asparagus .

When I was a kid I drank milk like it was water.
My ex didn't.
My mom didn't.
Guess who both lost teeth and who didn't

Are the two of you actually different people?

My mom and my ex both brushed their teeth and the ex flossed. I didn't.  But I did drink milk like it was water when I was a kid. They lost a tooth each. I didn't.

Yeah but people lose teeth for all sorts of reasons. Being smug and sanctimonious, for instance...

45W per hour over a 24 hour period, or just over 1kWh/day which is about $0.12/day around me no exactly a lot when you can buy beef for $3.69/lb instead of $8+.

It never seems to take very long for one of Fark's legion of morons to show up and tout how cheap it is to eat fast food compared to eating a healthy diet.  That the evidence contradicts it is irrelevant -- it's become pretty clear that the sheer repetition has resulted in more people believing it than not.  The cost difference becomes even more exaggerated if you factor in the larger clothes (as you get fatter and fatter from eating garbage food) and the spiraling healthcare costs (because fatter usually equates to getting sicker).

Though I vote Democrat, I'm glad we have plenty of Republicans who will do everything in their power to prevent universal tax-supported healthcare from ever happening.  Because all of the data makes it clear we're overwhelmingly a nation of fat f*cking morons whose only concern when it comes to health is healthcare.

Why the Fark are you so concerned about 'other people' and what they eat.
JFC. Chill...and stop 'name calling' you farken idiot. And MORON is a medical classification.

And waving the "I'm a liberal" flag doesn't make you look better.
I'm gay...do you hate gay people....DO YOU? You gay hater person.

Just having a McD and fries doesn't make you a 'fatty' FAT faken Moron.

Do you want to call Julia Child a MORON. DO YOU? YOU GAY HATER PERSON THAT HATES

Unless you're talking a bag of beans and a sack of rice...because if you are, fark you.

/and I can make a dang beans and rice stuff. It's can just get boring tho.

That's something I always hear but never really see, even though I've said it myself many times. I guess if you compare one mcdouble per person to a 12 ingredient  salad per person it works, or a pizza divided by 4 versus 4 steaks or something.

Jfc. Split the difference.  Tax fast-food and junk food and use that money to offset the shiat you are crying about like a farking baby.  Jfc.

And you are calling others stupid ?

Also. Having a full pantry, washing dishes, replacing dishes, replacing pans, finding the best deal on raw goods, and cooking time and learning to cook well. That all cost money mother farker.
Fast food taste better than a failed meal .
You act like people can afford to trash a failed meal attempt.

/
I say this as someone who can actually cook. Who has cooked since I was 6?
Who was a latch key kid.
Who loved cooking shows as a ten year old.
Frugal gourmet. Crazy Cajun.
Who loves  Anthony bordean, man vs food, and bizarre eats.
I went to college for culinary arts.
My onion soup is better than landry's.
//
Cooking is something you have to learn.  And ruined food isn't free. And it's easy to fark up a pot of food. And only well informed people know how to reverse things. I can't and I cooking regularly.
///
I can tell tales of ruined meals. For days. The tales live on because it was hard times and we didn't have food to replace that farked food.
////
You don't get how bad tasting food is demoralizing.  Lucky you.

Two tomatoes and two cucumbers make a half loaf of sandwiches.
But. The catch is you need some kind of dressing, or salt and pepper or lime juice or transversely awesome bread?
Even simple meals are better with a panty.
And stocking one is expensive. I haven't had more than two jars of condiments for two years.  And my panty is Ramen packets. And cinnamon.  And curry mixed spices.  Black pepper whole. Bouillon. Sea salt. Cloves. Sage. Some different pastas, noodles, beans, lentils, and vermicelli.

So even with that I need to buy some protein or vegetables to make something from the above.
I've been lucky.  I've been getting by, buying clearance bag complete salads.  And clearance chicken. Between that and my modest pantry I get along. I feel awful for people who can't cook. Those people eat awful meals get rich and make awful voting choices.

You people will starve to death in a real emergency.
Not even a can of soup or some dried pasta on hand.
"Oh, the canned soup is expired" --- no, Monk, that's a "best by date".
or OMG this salt has gone bad....let's toss it.
And unless spiders and moths fly out of the  bag, dried rice is pretty much shelf stable for ages.

Stocking a pantry can be expensive, but once you have a handful of things you're mostly set. Fast food may be the lower price for a single meal or single day depending on what you get, but over the course of a week it is farcheaper to eat the equivalent or better quality meals at home.
I'm not saying that everyone should eat at home all the time, as I mostly don't care what other people do. But the idea that eating out is cheaper is just not true in most instances.

My mom has 5 years old stuff in her freezer.  I've eaten it when she is kind enough to pity me give some to me.
5 year old chorizo taste like pepperoni.  It should not. But. I didn't die.

Mostly.  But. That requires investment.
I always think about this.
It must be expensive for homeless people to eat only canned; and fresh immediately.
They don't have refrigerators. And no storage, much less pantry beyond stealing packets of this and that.
I feel blessed to eat what I eat.
Ramen with sliced clearance vegetables.  A lone egg. And random spices i happen to have.  I have farked up so many meals as a kid. I know what I like and dislike.  And I can cook. My heart goes out to men who fark up boiling water.  Or burn jiffy pop. Or burn eggs and think it is good. Cry.
