Line the road with these. To get message across.

Unhook the trailers and lift them out with a helicopter? At an exorbitant fee, of course.

Am I supposed to read all of that?

Truck gets in stuck in place that they shouldn't have driven into.

Tow truck pulls it out.

The End.

How do you get 3,000 words out of that?

Even a Sikorsky can lift I think like 20k lbs sensibly?  Tractor trailer loads go way higher than that, even on the average.  Unloading it to lighten it would likely take even longer than what they're up to now, and I'm still not at all sure you'd hit the weight limit for a rational airlift even then

They need a big zeppelin with a winch.

Why would a trucker take that road? It looks like there are better roads leading to where he would want to go.

A Smugglers Notch costs $75 in Idaho.
You have to bring your own stool.

That'd probably work if they had such things - something along the lines of the old graf zeps minus the hydrogen mistake could easily handle the weight certainly

The map doesn't really do the Notch road much justice either. That really bendy part in the middle? It has a ridiculously steep grade and large boulders on the edge of the road.

Apparently at BOTH ends of the road, there are signs (with flashing lights)in English, French and Spanish saying, NO TRUCKS.  These truckers are the stupidest, of the stupid.  They should not be driving.  Unless their GPS told them, in which case it would be OK.

Not on that road, especially not in bad weather. Truck suspensions want lots of weight for traction on a slope.

Because they think it is a shortcut, and they want to aboid Burlington

Drivers are not known for their intelligence or good critical thinking skills

Nah comparing it to VT 100 is a better comparison. To get to Jeffersonville from I-89 it's a lot longer if you don't take VT108, the road in question.

You'd better chuck your truck

(sorry, I got lazy at the end)

They just need to put an engineered road feature at the bottom that a tractor-trailer can't get through (and prevent any way to get around it). Boom - problem solved.

Sounds kinda like Teton Pass in Wyoming. It's closed to trucks in the winter and has restrictions in the summer. It gets a few every year in both the summer and winter.

There's two ski resorts right before the twisty section, they get truck deliveries. Maybe right after that but short of an automated gate these ding-dongs won't stop. And maybe not even then.

CSB: I was parked with my buddy up in Smuggler's Notch one night at midnight in the tourist parking lot, committing herbicide, and a state police k-9 unit rolled past us, behind us, heading from Jeff to Stowe. And I said, ditch the weed and beer, they are coming back.
No sooner had we tidied up and pulled out a guitar and mandolin in the car, when the car whipped in behind us, the dog barking.
I've worked with k-9 units, and that dog was yelling, "They got weed! They got weed!"
But the trooper got out, calm as could be and walked up as we played "Friend of the Devil"
We smelled, but nothing was in the open.
We got a pass for the price of a song.

I have other stories of the notch, and that is just one.
