How does one cheat in chess? Was one of the players Sicilian and death was on the line?

McGrits: How does one cheat in chess? Was one of the players Sicilian and death was on the line?

I kid you not, the leading theory involves programmable anal beads.

It's super easy online but over the board usually involves some kind of networked device and an accomplice running a chess engine feeding you moves.

Definitely trumps Anna Rudolf's "lip balm" conspiracy theory.

You have someone put the moves into a high level chess program.
The program gives you your countermove.
You relay that information to the player.

In one of the instances, the player was possibly getting the moves relayed to them through Bluetooth vibrating anal beads.

I'd imagine it's more due to the anal beads theory - gives it that little extra "the hell?"

I once figured I'd start to be a "chess guy".

So I bought a chess computer program (forget which one) that had opponents of varying skill.
The easiest opponent was a monkey; the moves it made were random moves.

After getting my ass kicked 5 times in a row by a random move making monkey, I figured that being a "chess guy" really wasn't my thing.

I'd be so tempted to program the monkey so occaisonally it played like a grand master, just to screw with people.  Just now and again

That's how engines work, anyway.

It's hard to write a program that imitates realistic poor play, so aside from shortening the analysis horizon the computer is allowed to use, another thing you can do to make a program play poorly is to tell it that every so many moves, it's not allowed to use the best move according to its evaluation.

A program that plays like a grandmaster for four moves and then plays like a monkey for the fifth is ridiculously easy to beat, so that can be the lower difficulty setting.

i dont play chess cuz im scared i'll move my pawn and they'll go "ah i see youre going for the bulgarian somersault" and then i'll try to take their bishop with my knight and they go "rookie mistake, youve played the frenchmans cumsock and in approximately 37 moves i'll have won"
