Do they make the cows wear pasties too?

So is just an affirmative verbal consent okay or do you require written consent from the cow?

No idea where this county meeting was held, but the Oakland city council also met Tuesday afternoon and the meeting had to be paused due to two people getting shot in front of city hall. Shots were heard in the meeting. One person died. You know shiat is getting bad when people are getting shot in front of city hall during business hours. I have friends who live there and always enjoy visiting. Hope things get better there soon, but won't be holding my breath.

Asinine? Beasting wild animals for entertainment is hardly the mark of a civilised society. Still - when killing each other with guns on a daily basis no longer makes the news, I guess you are looking at civilised in the rear view mirror.

Ragin' Asian: What about The Valley in LA?

Thank you for clarifying LA. Whenever someone tells me they're from "the valley", I always respond with San Joaquin? Rio Grand? Ohio?

Same with "Bay Area". Tampa? Hudson? Chesapeake? Green Bay?

Hold on...is that: bans wild cow-milking? Or wild-cow milking?

Because at a rodeo event I can imagine both.

The cow is "wild" in that it's a beef cow rather than a dairy cow, and therefore unaccustomed to having its teats handled by humans, or really much of any human handling at all. It's still domesticated livestock.

Death?

Seriously though: does anyone from any other "valley" identify as "being from the valley"?  Ditto "Bay area". I've only ever heard those referencing California.

I guess the wild cow milking will just have to move to Vegas, like the Raiders.

They are milking a cow.  It's not like it's cat juggling, or something that diabolical.

Public milking a wild bull contests apparently still OK

San Francisco is the only Bay Area.

Tampa is Tampa.
Southeast Virginia is Hampton Roads.
New York is the Big Apple

Milking your eel in front of a crowd in Oakland is apparently also illegal. ( ._.)

It is possible to work on more than one issue at once. Just because I care about animal welfare does not mean I don't care about child welfare.

Marginally. Breeding beef cattle are the closest thing to aurochs alive today. The cows are mean and wild, and the bulls are flat out killers.

Depending on where you are in the US, New York City is the entirety of New York. Like, that's it.

I've been to a few rodeos but have never seen this. I guess it's been a few years. Mutton busting I've seen. That seems harmless enough. I mean, way easier on the animal than calf roping, etc.

But somehow, people like this keep getting elected. Maybe it is time for voters to reevaluate how their decisions are made.

Forcibly milking a bull in front of a crowd is a little more problematic.
