Adolf Oliver Nipples: This truly is the dumbest conspiracy theory of all. It literally happened in front of the whole world, monitored closely by the Soviet Union, who desperately wanted to beat us there but couldn't make it work, and who would have exposed a fraud in a second if it had in fact been a fraud.

There are millions of documents detailing all of the equipment, planning, and execution of the US space program, but for something so vast and expensive, again with everyone watching, there is not a single piece of paper anywhere that details the alleged hoax. Not a single participant put anything down for posterity.

I'd give flat Earth the edge on dumbest conspiracy theory, but it's close.

It's well-rounded compared to other conspiracy theories.
