I've lived in Maryland, Oregon drivers are worse.

You cross the Wilson Woodrow bridge from
VA to MD and it's like going from regular bad drivers all around to really bad and over confident speeding assholes all around.

I've lived in a handful of states in different parts of the country and not once have I heard good things about the drivers in any of them.

Way too easy to get and maintain a license in this country

Nice to have more bad drivers on the road, thanks beep beep

It's Woodrow Wilson from VA to MD, and Wilson Woodrow from MD to VA.

/used to live near chain bridge, always wondered if there was a whip bridge

Corrupt driving instructors?!

In the span of a month I've had two people try to merge into me, only avoiding them because thankfully no one was to my left and I could swerve out of the way. One was in Ohio, one was Frederick MD, so yeah

Maryland thread?

Maryland thread.

How do you know someone is from Maryland?

Maryland is the only state with a motto in Italian. "Fatti Maschii Parole Femine," loosely translated to "strong deeds, gentle words," was the motto of the Calvert family who first founded the colony of Maryland.

/I wish they would flip the helmet pattern so you get the contrast effect on profile/sideline view.

I live in Florida. I'm convinced they don't even require people to know how to drive.

CSB: My younger brother and I went to get our licenses at the same time. I wasn't really in a rush and was over 18. He wanted it the second he was eligible. So we went to the DMV in Uniontown, PA for the knowledge and driving tests. It was an awful setup for the knowledge test there, a state cop asking questions and expecting specific wording for a correct answer. We both failed that one, but for whatever reason they still had us both do the driving test as well. We both passed that, but still no licenses as you need to pass both. As I said he was fired up to get his license that day so he went to two more locations in neighboring counties over to take a two more shots and failed those ones as well.

We then popped over to Washington, PA to try again the following day. They had the multiple choice machines. I passed that one no problem. He did finally as well, they also did a much simpler closed course driving test there. We both passed and got our licenses. But from then on any time he'd say something about being a great driver I could always bring up failing three drivers license tests in one day. Especially fun when in the company of one of his girlfriends.

By the  time you're up to forth gear in Maryland you're almost out of the state.

Denjiro: We then popped over to Washington, PA

That's where I passed both, in January, in my Plymouth Fury II sedan.  The Trooper who was giving me the driving test looked at my Blue Beast and said "We'll take the three point as a given."  There was 2cm of ice on the course at the time.

I live in Maryland you can drive alternate roads all the way to completely bypass it. For example you are heading from God Bless The Garden State... so hit the Delly-ware bridge but the entire point is get on 301 South and stay on it*.... there is a rest area and well not much but zero traffic compared to 95 which also means less stress...

Each major highway (Eisenhower highways) have (N S E W) directions and well the trick is to bypass the cities in general. They take time and are dangerous.

Specifics...... only dumb asses drive on 95 in general [now that is pretty specific] the main speed limit is not 65  you know damn well you  will get mushed. Maryland drivers WILL GO OUT of THEIR WAY just  go faster than you go..... if not then they will match your speed and tailgate a

and well you are chill doing 65 and open highways...one little town to bypass and well you are now on Route 50 heading West and on the mappy you will see Rt 301 South*. This is where if you do not know how to local bypass you stay on 50W to 301S..... you have 2 small towns not cities get gas whatever you are moving through Maryland and its Labor day.... no time... Sure you can drive 85 on most Interstates and the closer to cities you will get the cafe racer type bikes,,, they weave... so you just chug along on 301S now you are looking at 301S in the country like get your corn and  Crabs on.... Now on the last stretch 301 and the last River ..... Hi new Virginian visitor you have now missed Maryland Interstates where you had 2 lanes to yourself and you are now ahead of schedule.... So the tl;dr Stay on Rt301 and like it.... will go through La Plata MD then King George VA. ;

If you want to go bypass East to West say OC (beach) to Deep Creek (cold ass mountains) well another thread.

If the above does not even get you to take a look well I will not mention how to  bypass NYC with the TappenZZZZZ and this one smooth trick (but not today)

*Stay on 301 and balls to the wall to Hilton Head or say Pazi Steklos or Drews but  near a waffle house. The car knows the way now...

It's after 2 so well this is what it is... really drive safe folks I hate reading stuff happening to farkers...

Even preschoolers realize this.

My 4 year old: "people drive bad in Maryland, but not us because we're from New York"

/We don't drive so great either, but don't ruin this for him

Ohio drivers are some of the most entitled motherfarkers I've ever had to drive around
In MD, people drive like assholes on the highway. In Ohio, they drive like assholes everywhere.

NJ is nice for getting your license. When you take your test you don't even have to go on public roads with traffic or anything. It just a glorified parking lot track...
