So anyone know if the crimes alleged but never charged are still within the statute of limitations?  I seem to remember that most of them expire very soon or have in the past few months.

Barr and Rosenstein should both be charged with obstruction of justice.

I would be a lot more excited if I knew the people who broke the law doing this would face 20-Life in prison.

It's too bad dereliction of duty isn't a crime for federal office holders.

There was an article about the time this first came out, proposing if the president could not be prosecuted the statute of limitations should not run. Similar to how it's paused if someone flees the country and can't be prosecuted.

Yeah - otherwise, I think they've all run out.  Someone else may know different, though.

In any case, if they do prosecute, that'll be fought all the way to SCOTUS, and should be.  What shouldn't happen but will, is that it will be a 6-3 ruling that completely upends the entire statute of limitations system and makes it impossible to try any republican who can get themselves elected dog catcher or something.

So originally there was an article that was all "zomg!"

https://www.lawfareblog.com/where-justice-department-trump-obstruction-offenses

I can't find it now, but there was an "ackshually" article that described how the obstruction could technically be part of "ongoing crimes." In that case, the statute of limitations would start from when he left office, giving in theory extra time to prosecute.

No idea what would be likely to hold up in court. IANAL.

It's only a summary, and by all accounts done by a school kid who didn't want to read the book. It's for those fancy law talking guys. Nothings gonna happen.

The moment that FOIA gets read, more lawsuits will happen, or should. The something happening can't be until at least then plus appeals.

Why would he be charged? He was exonerated, remember? No collusion.

Robert Mueller, sitting at the end of the bar at Trump's golf club, where he's happily maintained his membership, looks up at the news, gives a sloppy grin, and slurs into his cheap, watered-down drink, "Ginnee nuttherr," before devolving into a few minutes of complete gibberish.

Meh... all these f*cks would just be going to Club Fed anyway but prosecuting and convicting them is important.

These doinks will likely just present themselves at the CF at the appointed time because they are too cowardly to get into a physical scrap with the law and the law is defs goan be using kid gloves.

I mean a hail of bullets type sitch may occur but I'm guessing that would be an outlier.

They want YOU to die/bleed for their cause.

Not themselves.

This wouldn't be a problem if we eradicated sh*tbird Conservatives in 1865.  But Sherman stopped short of the required 2-3 million.  Now society needs to exterminate 70 million Cons before the planet can improve.

I'm still not convinced tfg** received anything close to 70 million votes in 2020, much less 62 million in 2016.

I might just be deluding myself, but it's hard to imagine 20% of the country - not the electorate, the whole freakin' country - would vote for this buffoon a second time.

Count me in as someone who also does not believe TFG got 70 million votes in 2020.

With ALL the "every accusation is a confession" IMAX election fraud projections the GOP has made, red states clearly are compromised in their election results.

Me neither and I don't think a lot of R's legitimately won their positions. The projection from the right, history of shady extremist Christian groups and weird company conspiracies (Diebold is the only big name my super baked brain can remember right now) involved in counting the votes, and foreign interference from nations coincidentally allied with those previously mentioned groups all make me think our system is farked.
