You don't have to worry about breaking the Royal Doulton  anymore.

Wow! She was still alive?!

I remember seeing that show many times when I was a kid. She was great.

Long and full life.

It's not all that old, though it is easy to mistake it as an older show than it is.  It's actually newer than Seinfeld by a year.

"Hello, the Buu kay residence!". One of my favorite memories.  The actor who played the husband was perfect.

If all you know Patricia Routledge for is Hyacinth Bucket, check out the Hetty Wainthrop mysteries, where she plays a *very* sharp detective.

I was astounded.

So, I know we are talking about the actress who played the neighbor, not "the Bucket woman." I've said that in some ways, my mother was a cross between Hyacinth Bucket and Edina Monsoon.

He should be. He helped raise King Arthur.

Spode, I think.

"Oh, thank God!"

She was also one of the teachers in "To Sir With Love" with Sidney Poitier.  One of Sir's allies.

My voice teacher said my mother sounds like a cross between the two.

Weird.

Yep, good old Mr. Copper.  Without him and his degree in Earthonomics, we might not have had the Subwave Network when we needed it most.

Onslow was the best part of KUWA.

Best scene: He's driving Rose around, helping her sell cheap necklaces and such door-to-door.

She convinces him to go knocking.

He rings a doorbell. An old man answers.

"Jewelry," Onslow says.

The old man puts his hands up and tells him where in the house to find it.

If you pay attention to the things he says, Onslow is quite the philosopher...

My favorite Onslow bit was him and Daisy in bed talking.  Onslow is reading a book.

The title is "Principles of Condensed Matter Physics".

Getting back to Josephine Tewson, after Keeping Up Appearances, she spent a few years on 'Last of the Summer Wine' as the new librarian.  She and Marina developed an interesting friendship.

Let me blow your mind. In the Yellow Submarine movie he voiced Paul McCartney.
In my mind un another universe Onslow is What McCartney became if he never met Linda.

She was so great in Keeping Up Appearances.

She knew how to do great slapstick comedy involving tea, which is the most British thing I've ever written.

God, I loved that show.

Ran across it on PBS and it was like some delicacy.

I just took a driving refresher class for work, and as I sat in the back, I kept calling out "Mind the Pedestrian"! No one thought it was as funny as I did.
