EA doesn't care about sales of the base game.  It's people buying lootboxes for their online Pay-To-Win thing.

Doesn't matter, the suckers will be paying full retail price and more once they start buying shiat for the ultimate team crap.

Going to be really interesting next year when the game with FIFA on the box won't be EA's.

(We don't yet know who is actually going to get the licence, if anyone at all given how much FIFA want for it)

Would they have been hurt more if it'd been a cricket game?

It would be cheaper dealing with all the subsequent lawsuits

"Cricket? Nobody understands cricket! You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket!"

He said right before getting hit in the face with a cricket bat that sent him flying through the air to land face first in a garbage can.

/There are not enough TMNT references on FARK.

I thought EA lost the FIFA branding rights.

When I first heard that line, I was a kid and thought Raphael was accusing Jones of theft. As an adult, I hear the scathing judgement in those words.

I got The Stick of Truth for 4 bucks on the PSN Store and they honored the price. That's how stores work.

I doubt it. It was an obvious mistake and they would be well within their rights to cancel the sales. And for $50, I seriously doubt anybody sues.

However, bad PR of cancelling it when they get most of their money through in-game sales makes saying "aw shucks" well worth it as an advertising expense.

Oh, they care about sales of the base game, they will sell tens of millions of units.

But, yes, the ongoing sales in-game is more evaluable and EA figures the PR effects means substantially more profits than the lost upfront sales.
