Always remember: it's pronounced NewfoundLAND, with the emphasis on the -land, like Disneyland (and not like Scotland).

Nicest people in the country.

Since parents were from Nova Scotia, been there a number of times.

So much nicer than folks in Toronto.

That article has a superb breakdown of Cree and other languages. Wow.  I thought there were more speakers of Anishinaabemowin in Canada.

My Newfoundland speaks two languages tyvm. Good boy and bad dog. Though he's never chosen to practice the latter very much, so maybe he's not fluent?

Some province in Canada must be the least linguistically diverse. Ta-da! It's Newfoundland and Labrador.

Some state in America must be the least linguistically diverse. I'm going to guess it's Rhode Island.

DAMMIT! It's West Virginia.

Man, here is some crappy writing:

"Some U.S. states promote diversity more than others. Contemporary immigrants often settle in seven states: California, New York, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Illinois. About 70% of the immigrant population lives in one of these seven states."

Really? Which one? Pennsylvania? We know it's not Rhode Island.

"Fully pronounce the -land like Disneyland, rather then with a schwa, like Scotland".

How's that? 😁
