Yep - it's one of those, "Look at those weird scary people!" articles.  Again

/lot of reasons to stop cooking <whatever> in a restaurant
//few to none of them are because of "holier than thou" customers
///almost all of them are 'cause time and money
////with your occasional, "I shall make a point and show those weirdos!" genius chiming in - and losing money

English vegans seem extra smug initially - but one has to realize they have to sustain themselves on English vegetables like parsnips, turnips & sprouts.
Their buttocks howl at night in pain, frustration & flatulence.

I dated a vegan for a few years. Once, while I was living in Las Vegas, we went to the only vegan restaurant in the city.  Apparently, they were also against using any spices or ingredients with flavor.  She was used to vegan places in SoCal and we never went there again.  The place folded about a year later.

Oddly enough, she never dated vegans herself.

Well, 1/3 of  your user name checks out at least.

I like all three of those veggies. In fact I'd go so far as to say turnips are one of the most underutilized veggies in western cuisine. Just happy I grew up with traditional southern cooking and was introduced to them early.

And again with the Farkers' fragile GI tracts. Ya'lls buttholes need Jesus.

If economically possible i too would not market to a demographic known for being Karen or Karen adjacent. If you don't have the product they will stop showing up. And the truth probably is that this was one group of vegans that frequented this place who were assholes and ruined it for everyone. For example I used to go a goth/alternative club with no dress code. These normies kept showing up, hassling the hot goth girls, and heckling the freaks. They seems to always wear basketball shorts. So a no sports shorts dress code was implemented to keep these 3 douche canoes out of our safe space.

Where I live near all restaurants have vegan options because we have the highest percentage of vegans out of all the places that track such things. Like a full 12% or something.

I've actually owned a restaurant in a city with a lot of vegans, so vegan/vegetarian is expected even at a brew pub. Chef was fine with it, was vegetarian herself. Had plenty of non veg on the menu, house cured bacon, burgers, etc. never had a problem with anyones diet, but we were pretty clear we weren't a good spot for a celiac

Love turnips too, they make a nice soup with paprika.
Not to mention a must-have in a good lamb or chuck stew.

Interesting on the chef, I'd think it would be a problem as you do have to taste things now and again to be sure what's up?  (Unless you just don't worry about a few bits here and there for work purposes, I guess it'd more be a matter of are we talking ethical vegetarian or diet/other reasons vegetarian?  Shrug - just made me wonder
