It's hard to think of it as an accident when she was that f*cked up, driving that fast. Maybe she didn't consciously intend to die, but that's not a little whoopsie that could happen to anyone.

Seems convenient.

I hope not, for the sake of the homeowner.  I mean, yeah, the homeowner's insurance might cover some of it, but most of the costs for either rebuilding or finding a new house should fall to Heche's estate or insurance.

Especially considering she crashed twice. She left the scene of one accident before the next one.

Gosh, it's so sad when an attempted murderer dies while trying to kill people. A drunken person with a weapon in their hands is an attempted murderer, plain and simple. I don't care if it's some toothless, drunken, trailer trash hillbilly or some drunken white woman who happened to speak some words in a movie that only people with shiatty taste in movies care about.

Perhaps someone can hypocritically explain to me how she was any different from any of the million other DUI sacks of garbage.

DUIs kill people. They should always be treated accordingly, as murderers with a weapon.

It's unfortunate that property damage occurred, but property can be replaced. Human lives cannot.

Mental illness is a topic that hits close to home for me and I hope that those who are suffering know that there is help out there.

Getting blitzed and crashing your car not once, but twice is not exactly accidental.

I view it as a psychotic episode.  Most suicidal people don't want to take others out...and usually don't do it by vehicle.

I quit drinking last November and I'm 50. She was 53. I could see myself going in a similar fashion if I didn't quit.

Just how fast was she going? She must have hit that house like a cruise missile.

An air bag can deploy fast enough to break your sternum. Especially when you don't stiff arm the collision as it is happening.

Yikes, brutal way to go.

I'm not really sure I believe the reports she was in communication with the rescue teams. A broken sternum, massive smoke inhalation, but then you see the video of her sitting up and screaming bloody murder. Surreal doesn't really describe it.

So many c*nts in these threads, frothing kill-em-all types that crawl out of the woodwork, especially when a celeb dies.  Sickening shiat, screeching your joy at another human's death, I hope you never have a loved one succumb to addiction.  Not for your sake, for theirs, because you'd be a right shiat to them instead of the support they'd actually need.

"I farking hate my farking daughter for burning to death in a firey end to her addiction, look what she did to that poor house."  Let's see you say that when it happens to you, otherwise STFU.

It's not a farking murder, even if someone died.  You don't get it, and that's why we can't ever address addiction properly in this country.

In the UK the insurance company has to pay out for 3rd party claims, but being drunk or on drugs would invalidate your claim. So, paying for damage to house, not to car or driver death

This is really an "is alcoholism an illness?" debate question and that question has been answered for years.

She sped down the same street multiple times at extremely high speed.  That was flinching.  The last time around she finally managed to keep it floored until impact.  This was a very deliberate suicide and she didn't care if she took other people with her.

I'll reserve my sympathy for the victims. The guilty party go fark right off and go to hell.

This part still doesn't make sense to me.  I can see how a body could knee-jerk like that after being freed, but that she was communicating with the rescuers?
