Wow, I must have seen a completely different movie titled "Superbad."

Superbad holds up better than any John Hughes movie about high school.

John Hughes movies suck except for Vacation, Mr. Mom and any movies of his with boobs.

Immediately, the film was a hit that catapulted its cast-including Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Emma Stone, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Bill Hader, and Martha MacIsaac-into stardom.

I enjoy Weird Science, although I won't argue it's great cinema.

Movies cab be dumb AND fun and fail the fine art litmus test. Wishing them away doesn't make production support and funding available for the films any of us would believe should be made, instead. John Hughes films don't hold up 30 and 40 years later, to me, because of the anti gay language and rampant sexism. Superbad had some moments. I'd love to have seen it high in my late teens with dumb friends but that presents a lot of impossibilities since I'm 51. Revenge of the Nerds ran for 6 consecutive sold-out weekends at summer midnight movie showings back in the day. That movie was great when I was 12 or 13, but woo boy, it was all sorts of wrong.

This is correct. I laughed my ass off as a dumb and stoned 22 year old 15 years ago. And the wife and I rewatched last month and I laughed my ass off as a dumb and stoned 37 year old.

Ok you're the only person I've ever seen acknowledge Hot Stuff.

Any time I see a short person I use the "tomorrow at noon you may climb me" line!!

There's a gay dude in Orlando who's a spitting image for Mintz, and he absolutely used this to his advantage in online profile names.

I always found it a tad funny that Mintz had to have a parent on set during the naughty time scenes. His mom wasn't it? Awkward!

Yeah, I'm in the wrong age group for this movie too. I think I've started watching it 2 or 3 times and I've never got past the liquor store scene. Maybe the awkwardness of the boys just hits me wrong.

Ah, it really takes off once the cops get there. I thought it was boring as shiat until that point.

The rape, gay bashing, and racism kind of put 16 candles in a bad light.

The penis sketches at the end of the movie were the funniest part. Much the same way that the photo clips at the end of Hangover 1&2 were the best part.

The hidden cameras...which leads to the pies they sell.  Homophobic and racist caricatures as well.
