The hedge funds would really appreciate it if you would sell all your BBBY holdings.  The price run-up is costing them a fortune.  It was supposed to go to zero, you stupid stupid stock holders.  Stop ruining the hedge fund party.

I made 86% in about 30 minutes on a $15 Aug19 put... I think I'll just watch now.

Yeah, I won't touch any part of that.  Have fun gambling.  Don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

I guarantee you that HF's are playing both sides, the difference is, they'll get out when they make money.

To move a stock takes millions of buys for days, that's not just your average investor. It's whales, funds and investment firms.

This is the smart play. I'm watching the put prices closely.

Once the run up dies, a whole lot of people are gonna make a shiat ton in puts. These prices are bananas.

Selling puts on these things will clear out the luxury car supply for months.

Reddit gets pissed that some people figured out how to manipulate the stock market to their advantage and get rich.

Reddit figured out how those people manipulated the stock market to their advantage to get rich

Reddit employs same tactics to get rich, screwing over the little guy just like the first people

Reddit pats themselves on the back for a job well done despite literally doing the exact thing they were railing against.

/Reddit is dumb.
//Also, manipulating the stock market like this REALLY needs to be illegal.

It's just the same thing Elon and his crew have been doing for years with TSLA... they buy far out of the money Call options and that stokes people into buying the underlying security which pushes the stock way up. They did it with all these stupid things.

They are using options to manipulate the stock and it's f*cking blatant but I don't think it's illegal. It should be though.

Ryan Cohen bought  a ton of call options at $65 for crissakes... when the thing was what $5 or 10 per share?

Then it "leaks" out and everyone uses that as a catalyst to buy shares and more call options.

It's just complete fraud and manipulation.

I'm pretty sure the hedge fund managers did this to themselves.  Corporate fundamentals are out the window and the betting parlor is open for business now.  Value investors don't stand a chance so why not just roll the dice.

Value investors do just fine if they're willing to buy and hold.  Traders buying and selling value stocks in the short term are screwed as always.

Good luck making a bunch of random people on the internet talking about what stocks they like buying illegal.

I can't wait for a TechBro to become CEO of Bloodbath and Beyond and start issuing NFTs as a path forward into the future of household item sales!

What are they going to do? Charge everyone who posted on Reddit's wall street betting subreddit with securities fraud?

A guy on the local news here flat out called it a pump-and-dump scheme. It's down quite a bit after hours, but I wouldn't consider it "dumped" quite yet. They've probably got people on Reddit who are late to the party, trying to keep it alive.

That $19 after-hours isn't encouraging for the bulls, and arguably breaks any pattern. Especially because it's based on a fundamental catalyst - Cohen taking some profits: https://www.marketwatch.com/articles/ryan-cohen-rc-ventures-bed-bath-beyond-sec-51660776823

But it doesn't show up on charts of regular-hours action. (Just like pre-market doesn't, because normally the before-hours and after-hours action is so thin and illiquid that it almost never matters except for setting the stage for the opening bell.)

Point I'm making here is that individuals trying to work with these names overnight basically have to forego sleep. Because depending on their broker's platform, their trading day could be up to 20 hours long - from 4am ET opening of premarket to 8pm ET closing of after-hours.

tl;dr: The suspense continues to be amusing terrible. I wonder how much longer it will last!
