He's on the Homeland Security and Foreign Relations committees. He has seen stuff, dangerous stuff. Is he this nonchalant about that?
Secrets don't leak because the safe isn't  waterproof, you dolt. The threat isn't someone sneaking in past the Secret Service and photographing nuclear codes using their pen camera. It's the guy who couldn't pass up fetishizing his illicit hoard of secrets, salaciously flashing little bits to his friends and sponsors, foreign and domestic.

Yes.

Ron Johnson has spent at least one Fourth of July in Moscow coordinating things with their leaders. He's not concerned about whatever Trump sells because he's given away plenty for free.

Not concerned.. that the most important secrets in the world were literally stolen by an illiterate criminal.

Ah yes, maralago is so much more secure now when Trump is an ex-president than when he was the actual president and a Chinese national was found wandering the halls carrying a bunch of usb drives.

And people thought I was kidding when I said isn't it odd that Trump returned the first batch of boxes to the Archives just in time for Putin to invade Ukraine?

Start checking travel itineraries, although I'm sure they already are.

While the place is a problem, it's not THE problem.  The paramount problem is that Trump has likely shared this classified info.  So, your BS about it being safe enough at Mar-a-Lago is nonsense.  The secret service aren't there to manage who see what documents.  Trump is no longer POTUS and he has zero right to retain or share classified information.  He's a criminal and a traitor, plain and simple, and he deserves to burn for it and oh so much more.

There's alotta things Ron Johnson doesn't care about: honesty, Wisconsin, intelligence (generally), fair elections, the US of A....

Or when EVERYONE at the club could overhear, and fark, probably participate in, Trump and Abe discussing Best Korea's then latest missile launch

Everyone who tries to thread the needle of being pro-Trump while also caring about the welfare country ends up sounding like an idiot. "I'm not overly concerned about state secrets" is just dumb.

Mainly because they think they'll be the ones in charge.

Forgetting the first rule of authoritarianism: the biggest asshole is always on top. And as bad as Trump was, there are far bigger assholes who are far, far more competent.

Trump would survive about 24 hours after his coup. His replacement would a) arrange is murder and b) use Trump's newfound martyrdom to implement a police state.

Trump was only ever a useful idiot

It would be delicious if, knowing that Trump was balls deep in Russian influence, the powers that be slipped him the data that he slipped to Putin that made him think Nato's response was going to be a joke.

Political commercial.

Opens with mushroom cloud. Shaky news footage. "Terrorist linked to 9/11 attackers detonated a nuclear bomb in Chicago today. Experts believe the terrorists got the information on how to build the bomb from documents stored at Mara-a-Lago." Cut to Ron saying everything is safe.

I'll wager his thoughts on Hillary's emails were entirely consistent.

Wait a second... What the hell has Chicago ever done to you?!?  I'm in the suburbs, bucko.  Don't go nuking my city in your imagined propaganda and think you can just walk away!  Besides, Chicago isn't a valid terrorist target anymore - the street gangs pretty much have the violence part of that wrapped up.  Go and bug someone a little more terror-izable, like LA or Portland, or the entire state of Rhode Island.

What, are you making a pro-Ron Johnson ad? Do you really think Republicans would object to the idea of nuking Chicago?

Have the ad portray terrorists nuking like...I dunno, Omaha or something, then you might scare Republicans in the right direction.

Trump had every inch of MAL under CCTV. This will be shown to the American public one day. And we will find out WHO saw what was in the safe. I bet there were lots of Saudis near that area...a lot...

Its Wisconsin and he has a R by his name. That gets you at least 48% of the vote

All those large boxes were placed in a very small safe where a criminal looking for large boxes of documents would never think to look. Sounds pretty safe to me.

"First of all, I think Mar-a-Lago is a pretty safe place. It has Secret Service protection, sounds like these documents might have been in a safe," Johnson said.

/Sure seems like, he's almost certain that these documents are probably safe

Ron Johnson said he thought Mar-a-Lago was "a pretty safe place" for top-secret documents.

Oh yeah, a veritable fortress, that Mar-a-Lago. Every other waiter, bartender, cook, groundskeeper, etc. is probably a spy or asset of some sort by now.

Decades of propaganda have been rotting people's brains to the point where they don't trust any source of information other than that same propaganda.  The entire rest of the world is wrong about everything.

Decades ago, those in charge knew it was all just to get votes.  Now people raised on the propaganda are starting to gain power.

This is also how religions are born.

Well, it's suspected that a good part of the personal documents seized at Mar-a-lago were extortion files. Dirt on other Republicans. I expect Ron Johnson is so nonchalant about it because he has his own extortion documents and feels safe.
