Meh. The Giants and the Jets have been getting extra "home games" for quite a while, since they've shared that stadium for years.

Well, that's one way to get people to attend a Chargers game.

The stadium embarrasses them.  Better give them a new one.

Ah but not with the 17 game schedule. So the most either of them would have done is 9

Nobody needed nor wanted 17 regular season games.
Nobody needed nor wanted 14 playoff teams.
Nobody needed nor wanted 2 LA-based teams without seeing if 1 team was sustainable there.

This was all about selling shiat for the sake of selling shiat.

Every team should play 8 home and 8 away games.

The 17 game schedule is stupid.

If you insist on having a 17 game schedule, then every team plays an international game.

Come to think of it, the article claims that every team gets nine home games this year, but I think the truth is half get an extra road game. Wasn't it that way for 2021?

Pretty sure AFC teams got an extra home game in 2021 and NFC teams get an extra home game in 2022.

I see a solution - make it 18 games a season so it's 50-50 again

If you insist on having a 17 game schedule, then every team plays an international game you're an idiot.

The idea of going past 16 regular season games should have immediately gotten shoved into the trashcan.

How the NFL should run:

16 games across 18 weeks, with each team having 2 bye weeks (bye weeks wouldn't be in the first 3 or last 3 weeks of the season).

With the possible exception of Thanksgiving, no Thursday games.

Stick to the 2002-03 playoff model: 6 playoff slots per conference: the 4 division winners and the top 2 non-division-winning teams as wildcards, with the top 2 division winners getting byes into the Divisional round.

Scheduling oddities aside, I would absolutely stick my dick in that stadium.

(Shrug) it's not like the Chargers will be a pushover.

It's still 16 games in a regular season, right?  Then it should be 8 home, 8 away, to make it more even among all the teams.

But this is the NFL, where nothing matters.

We have been doing that up here for more than 30 years if I'm correct. We just have only 2 preseason games instead of the 3 (used to be 4 that the NFL used to have).

My recollection of 2 bye weeks when they tried that years ago, was that no one, not even the teams, liked it too much because of lost rhythm. However now with games on days all over the map (losing your rhythm regardless) and expanding to extra games, it probably makes more sense.

No matter how you organize anything, people are gonna complain about it. It's why no one actually cares about what fans say they want: They'll complain both ways but they're not gonna stop being fans either way.

/it's also why no one cares what voters say they want. What're they gonna do, vote for the people they believe are evil? And if you do get voted out, that's what the kickbacks and cushy jobs are for.

Personally I like additional games. It should have been 18 if they were going to expand though. Also they should expand the roster to give guys extra rest.

Psh. Every game against the Chargers is a home game for the other team.
