Man/sin voted against voting rights and protecting Democracy so fark them both

2022-08-16 4:12:23 PM
Hopefully we'll have 53 or 54 Dems and can really tell the two of them to fark off.

2022-08-16 4:19:05 PM
She's absolutely right, I only wish Democratic leadership shared her view of the situation.

2022-08-16 4:39:28 PM
Look at this good thing that could have been great. God damn Centrists. Worse than Republicans.

I know what I'll be doing in November

Oh, a PoliSci Prof from Dartmouth... Let me count the ways that you can f*ck right off.

Farking nuke it.

2022-08-16 5:41:21 PM
But if we don't let Joe Manchin block the Democratic agenda then we'll have to deal with Mitch McConnell blocking the Democratic agenda.

2022-08-16 5:42:27 PM
It just figures that Manchin had something on the side in order to get his vote.

Good. I hope they shove that so far down his throat that it pokes out of his ass.

2022-08-16 5:43:46 PM
Deceptive headline is deceptive.  It makes it sound as if she wants to nuke the IRA, instead of just telling Manchin to fark off...which is what everybody needs to do once we have 52+ Senators on the Democratic side and don't need him anymore...

Gotta show dissent among the left so the authoritarian right can finish what they started.

2022-08-16 5:46:21 PM
Jesus Christ people, grow the fark up.  The dude is from WEST FARKING VIRGINIA.  Vote more Democrats in and he loses all his leverage, and -get this- Democrats still get to set the agenda.

Or biatch and complain and let the Republicans take over again.  That'll show em!

F*ck Machin, but can for once Dems not let a perfect solution ruin a good one?

2022-08-16 5:48:49 PM
Chuck Schumer got Manchin to agree to the IRA and all of its climate-related provisions in exchange for a pinky-swear promise?

Not the DSA and their Farkolytes.

Willfully misinterpretating any comment from progressive politicians so you can continue to claim you're the real victim?

If he genuinely gave a damn about West Virginians' interests, he would've supported the $3.5 trillion budget.

Progressives are always compromising and cooperating with moderates, but moderates never return the favor when push comes to shove.

I'm guessing that some Fark Moderates went apeshiat when Obama supposedly said "If you've got a business, you didn't build that!" during the 2012 election.

I don't know what Manchin thought was going to happen. It couldn't go through reconciliation so he thought he'd have 10 Republicans? Plus every Democrat - even the green ones?

Maybe he was hung-over that day.

Just as soon as people stop trying to misrepresent "Well, it isn't nothing" as a "good solution".

In fairness I expect Schumer will hold up his end of the bargain, and also that both of them are fully aware that the House is going to kill whatever passes, if anything (as there really isn't much time left in this Congress).

Look. The only way the DNC and Nancy will learn is for The People to embrace fascism! Then we will finally get the Progess we deserve.

"We need a giant bill with loads of money. We need to solve all of our problems with one giant bill and amazingly these problems can all be solved with just loads of money."

"We have taken your ideas into consideration and there's some stuff in there that you have specifically asked for. This is great progress we can all agree on."

"The American people would literally be better off if everyone just got a copy of the bill so they could wipe their ass with it. $670 billion? I can't even buy a candy bar with that. I'll vote for it, but this is hot garbage."

3 months later

"Why don't voters care about any of the legislation we pass????? Must be your fault for not messaging better"

It doesn't make a lot of sense unless one assumes that what Manchin gets out of it is a "well, I tried" for his reelection campaign. Even if you assume that it had the votes to pass the Senate, Pelosi is generally very cautious about raising bills that split her caucus, because her ability to consistently whip a Dem-only majority is kinda a necessary precondition to passing anything (other than regulatory breaks for oil companies).

More Dems elsewhere.

West Virginia will never elect a more honest or open minded Dem than Joe Millionaire (who's neither of those things).
