Not sure I've had T cell or cortisol levels measured, but I can vouch for the EBV part with long COVID (I'm 27 months in, fully vaxed and triple boosted; also, not subby).

My test results showed positives for two markers for EBV. Both of them have a normal range of 0-17.9. For one, I had 66.2; for the other, I had over 600, literally so high that they couldn't measure it.

Other studies show that up to 1 in 5 people who get COVID develop long COVID. That's tens of millions in the US alone. And yes, you can still get long COVID even if you are up to date on your boosters.

So by all means, feel good about getting vaccinated, but please, please don't throw all caution to the wind, no matter what the CDC says this or any week. This thing has upended every aspect of so many lives, including mine and Mrs. Heb's. You don't want this; you really don't.

Every time you get COVID, you likely get some microclots doing damage to your organs.  The difference between vaccinated and unvaccinated is the severity, nothing will stop the cumulative nature of the damage.  Brain, lungs, and heart are the ones you're most likely to worry about, but it can get anything that can't regenerate.

So yes, all your shots, and take reasonable precautions against infection.  The fewer rounds you go with COVID, the happier you'll be in the long run.

Sure, NOW you can say that.  I got posts deleted and emailed "lulz get vaxxed" by the mods for reporting it, when I posted the same thing during the "vaccines are 100% super duper effective and will prevent you from contracting or spreading any infection even if you go around licking subway poles!" phase of the rollout.

Really sorry that happened to you. I'm not sure what your issue may be with what I wrote, if any, but I'd be happy to talk about it further if you'd like. I'm simply speaking to my own lived experience and that of many people I know, along with evidence from researchers and clinicians like those who authored this study (full disclosure: Dr. Putrino put me in touch with the doctor who diagnosed me). I just really, really do not want anyone else to go through what I have unnecessarily -- or at all, but that may be asking a bit too much unless and until there's a truly effective treatment.

I have no issue with what you wrote.  I'm just still pissed that I got censored early on for saying the same thing.  Buncha dumbasses were posting "let the plague rats all die, I got my shot so now I can go on cruises and mosh at concerts".  I linked a NY Times article showing a bunch of hospitalizations amongst the vaccinated and said not to treat it like a magic silver bullet.  Got deleted for "public health disinformation" and laughed off when challenged.

Battle weary immune cells?

"Iwasaki's experimental therapy wish list is long and includes cortisol supplementation; Epstein-Barr virus-targeting therapy; the antiviral drug Paxlovid, now used for acute COVID-19; and even therapies that deplete B cells, which are used to treat autoimmune disease and calm the immune system."

Now there's an interesting wrinkle.  I just finished my Paxlovid battery yesterday as part of COVID treatment (vaxxed and boosted, but denied second booster since December, caught it two weeks ago).  My lungs still feel like they've been wire-brushed on the inside, and I'm guessing I likely have pneumonia (based on having had it several times in my life).  If I end up with Long COVID after that nuclear assault, it'll be a hell of a disappointment.  That shiat is real.

Sounds like they're closing in on it though.  That'll be good news once they do.  Just know that if the cure is Paxlovid, you're in for one hell of a week.  The persistent bitter taste and dangerous runs to the bathroom, combined with constant boiling stomach acid burning up your throat...

Keep reminding yourself "it's only a week."

/those were the three biggest side-effects I ran into
//YMMV

I said stuff like that constantly and never got censored.

That is strange.
