Are you saying I'm going to be stuck in Wichita?

I'm saying you ARE stuck in Wichita.

I don't get it.  Canceling now is a hell of a lot better than canceling hours before the flight.

This is why I always keep a set of shower curtain rings in my carry-on.

"For passengers, the impact might be negligible; instead of 15 flights a day between Dallas and Chicago, there might be nine flights but with more bums in the seats," Arnot said.

So we're bums now?  Fark you AA!

Obviously they're hiring old-timey hobos to fill the empty seats - you don't have to overcomplicate everything, Barnhawk

Good thing we have them billons of dollars 2 years ago to keep their operations running.

There is a simple solution to this which people seem to overlook.

I'm surprised that the pilots union hasn't published the number of pilots incented retired out by the airlines over the past two years.

A close friend, a captain on 737s, was incented to retire at age 60 immediately post-pandemic.  "Too many pilots" was the excuse.  And now????

It's like when the car manufacturers cranked back their integrated circuit orders. Being short-sighted means you're blind to the market.

/Just-in-time systems are part of the failure for factories.

620.

That's out of 13,000 pilots.

HempHead: someone's playing with the numbers ... though retiring 5% of your pilots is embarrassing enough.

The link says that the "offer was for pilots 62 or older" and my former CFI was well under that age.

We are flying Alaska Air late October. Just got an email today that our 7am flight has been canceled and we are now booked on the 5am flight same day.

Don't be silly, Casey

/obviously the ostriches will be pulling you at least 1/3 of the way, maybe half
//and the captive vampires are capable of levitating you quite a distance once the sun goes down
///you'll hardly have to pedal but a few minutes to charge the interocitors and signal the Ut'Mor to begin the Quickening
////I can't believe I have to explain basic solutions to grown humans

31,000 flights is only 16% of one airline in one month.
That is way too many people travelling and way too many flights.

Good we need to learn to contract. This expansion is the Only way crap needs to stop.

My wife's flights were changed slightly. My flights are another story. Instead of getting into my destination at 8:30 am I now get in at 4 pm. That does not work at all for my work schedule.
