So subby doesn't know enough music to recognize Motley Crue, Def Leppard, and Poison

Says more about subby than the bands.

The Stadium Tour features Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Sounds to me like a bunch of boomers are making 100% certain that they spend every single god damned cent they have, just to make sure that there is no inherited wealth left to defend against the fascist regimes they allowed to proliferate during their greed-driven, consumerist, self-centered lives.

I mean, what have those bands ever done? No one has ever heard of these old dudes. They clearly never had a hit.

I think subby recognizes them and thinks they suck.

Poison absolutely sucked live back in their heyday. Have they made any noticeable improvement since?

Going to see them this Friday.  Couldn't care less about Poison.....

I actually like Def Leppard's latest album.  Joan Jett is always worth seeing.  Crue put on a good show in the 80's, but i've heard not so much now.

Never saw poison live...

I saw Def Leppard at (i think) MSG way back when the drummer dude lost one of his arms. I have no recollection of how the concert was even though I remember being sober.

/Not so csb

Dude #1Did you hear about that drummer with one arm named Rick Allen?
Dude #2No.  What's the name of his other arm?

Saw that tour in Kansas City a few weeks ago.  Joan Jett was good, but it was also 100 Degrees and she was the opening act.  She had to stop twice due to the heat.   Posion was great, they know their lane and stay in it.  Its dumb pop/ rock that gets the crowd going.   Motley Crue sucked, ok the band didnt, but boyo has Vince Neal let his voice go (if he really had any). He just screetched.   Def Leppard, was good, like REALLY good.  Fun show.  It was like $200 for the tickets, but the show was 4 full acts, starting at 4:30 till almost midnight.

I thought their set was better and more enjoyable than Def Leppard and Motley Crue's, though that is probably not a good indicator.  Motley Crue's was probably the worst because their continued obsession with girls and "tiddies" was just sad and creepy.

Poison - Tied with Metallica for the band that I've seen live the most (yes it's possible to like glam AND thrash).  They ALWAYS put on a good show and always have minus a few times when CC was drunk.  They may not be the best musicians on the bill, but they always make sure the audience has Nuthin But A Good Time.

Crue - Always puts on a good live show, even when Vince is unintelligible (but I hear he has been relatively good for this tour.  The footage I've seen showed him actually singing all the words lol).  They make up for it with an entertaining stage show and say what you will about Tommy and his huge shlong, he's a fantastic and theatric drummer.  And that's what I look for in a band:  musicianship and showmanship.

Def Leppard - Joe Elliot is the laziest frontman of these bands.  While Bret Michaels is running around getting the crowd hyped, you're lucky to get a dramatic wrist flick out of Joe.  But his once-ragged voice is back in good shape and speaking of good shape, Phil Collen is still jacked to the gills.  They always put on a fun show, although I always end up disagreeing with the setlist (why do a "Rock On" cover when you could have done "Wasted" or "High n Dry"?)

Joan Jett - hipster cred.  She has a lot of hits.  I saw her at a Yahoo tv taping once and it was fun, but not terribly exciting until she got pissed off because an audience member asked her about her relationship with Carmen Electra.

Came here to say just that.  They were embarrassing.  In Denver Joan Jett went first but was in the sun the entire time and I thought she was going to melt.  But she still put on an awesome show.

I saw Def Leppard in Pittsburgh a couple of years ago and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.  They're fantastic.  Hit after hit, super tight, great harmonies, Phil Collen is effortlessly super accurate, nothing but great things to say.

Yeah, I get it. Sometimes pop culture is weird but it is important to remember that they are all a larger part of our culture.

Look at the cross overs alone...

I've seen Poison and Def Leppard (separately) several times.

I've been fortunate to miss the Drunk CC shows, so Poison has never disappointed me. I've met them backstage a few times, and they very clearly recognize (and appreciate) how their fans are their lifeblood. Or at least they eventually came to that discovery after grunge kicked them out of the mainstream and into their current niche of loyal fans.

The enjoyment of Def Leppard hinges entirely upon the daily condition of Joe's voice. He's got good days and bad days. And he also has "WhatTheFark Happened" days, sometimes only evident halfway into a set. But the other guys on that stage are absolute masters of their craft.

Met Ms. Jett very briefly, downrange, many moons ago when she was on a USO tour; she was in her short blonde hair mode. Total sweetheart. The interwebs say she's 5'5"-ish, but she seemed tinier; I think she shrank in the heat.
